Lauren Bateman surveys customers before and after her courses to find what works. She asks upfront what they want to achieve, then after completion whether she met their expectations. Most feedback isn't useful, but the occasional suggestion reveals what to fix.

I absolutely love customer feedback. We have customer feedback surveys. We do it both the front end and the back end of our courses. So in the front end, I will ask a client, what made you buy my product today versus three months? Like, be specific. What inspired you or motivated you to buy today? And what can I do to help you with reaching your goals? And then we do have a closing survey at the end that gets triggered when they complete the course. It sends them off a survey link where we ask them, did this course meet your expectations? What do you feel we could do better? Would you recommend this course? So we are kind of building into testimonials, into the completion survey now. Do you have to take all feedback into consideration? No. Probably 80% of it's not going to be helpful. But every once in a while, one of your clients will have any suggestion that you're like, wow, I never thought about that. We need to start incorporating this into the business.
