A chord progression on guitar is just a pattern of chords played in a certain order. So, say, for example, G, E minor C, D is a very, very common chord progression. And this is the reason that Ed Sheeran recently got in trouble with copyright. It's just, in pop music, there's only so many chords you can use in so many chord progressions. So a lot of times, songs start sounding like other songs. Now, if you take those four chords, you can make many different chord progressions. You could do gcd, G, C, E minor D. Okay, there's so many different ways to organize these chords, but just think of chord progressions as simple patterns that you follow when you play a song.
