Lauren Bateman's online guitar course hit $1 million in revenue after she niched down to teach people in their 50s and 60s. She focused on acoustic guitar and songs they wanted, like John Denver and Creedence Clearwater Revival, instead of competing in the crowded "learn guitar" space.

This guitarist right here just passed $1 million with her online course because she made this one genius change. Listen closely.
I actually figured out specifically who I wanted to teach. Who is my favorite student to teach. And it was always the people who were like in their 50s and 60s. They usually had the money. You know, when I started my YouTube channel, I was like, I'm gonna make these videos specifically for these students. Like, you know, I'm not doing like Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande. I'm not doing that stuff because they don't listen to that music. I'm doing John Denver, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Eric Clapton stuff that they like to listen to. I do only acoustic guitar. A lot of people ignore the older generation. They're like, oh, they're old, they're washed up. And I'm like, I want to help the people that, like, nobody wants to help them. Well, I'm going to help them.
This is the power of niching down. Notice how if I Google search guitar for 50 year olds, Lauren is the first results. But if I search learn guitar, she's immediately competing with thousands of people. If you appeal to everyone, you appeal to no one niche down and get specific with exactly who your offer serves.
