Short YouTube monologue by Lauren Bateman arguing against discounting online courses. Bateman explains she sells her beginner course at $197, avoids discounts to value her time and prevent training audiences to wait for sales, and instead adds limited-time bonuses (packaged value ~$400) to create urgency while keeping full price.

So many course creators think they have to offer a discount to add value to a sale. I personally never discount my courses because I value myself, I value my time, and it also trains my audience to just wait until the next time when I offer a discount. So I don't offer discounts even on my beginner course, which I sell for 197. What I did over Black Friday was instead of offering a discount, I added value to the course. So I still sold it for 197. But I said, hey, I'm going to give you these two additional bonuses. Bonuses which I'm never going to do this offer again. So I created urgency because it would never happen again and it's not going to. But they still paid full price. But they felt they were getting value because the package was valued at 400. So they were still saving 50% even though they were still paying full price for the course. So I highly recommend don't discount your courses. Add bonuses, create more value. This way you get them to pay exactly what you want.
