Lauren Bateman teaches the chorus of The Beatles' "Yellow Submarine" using just two chords: G major and D major. She shows a brighter 4-finger G shape and a simple down-down-down-up-down-up strumming pattern, then plays it through with vocals so you hear how it sounds.

Hey guitar enthusiasts, I'm going to show you quickly how to play the chorus section to Yellow Submarine by The Beatles. We're going to need 2 chords, nice 2 simple chords. We have a G chord and a D chord. Now, little secret for you, if you want to use the 4-finger G chord, it's a little bit brighter in sound, but it creates a nice pivot point. This 3rd finger can stay in place to go to your D chord. So if you want to use the bright sounding G, which is a 4-finger G, go right ahead. If not, you can use regular D major and regular G major as well. All right, so our strumming pattern we're gonna have for this is 1, 2, 3, and 4, and 1, 2, 3, and 4, and down, down, down, up, down, up. Okay, that's gonna be our strumming. 1, 2, 3, and 4, and down, down, down, up, down.
We all live in the yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarine. We all live in the yellow submarine, yellow Yellow submarine, yellow submarine.
