Modus Create, a 350-person consulting firm, replaced spreadsheets and Slack with Operating.app to solve a chronic problem: either too many idle staff or not enough to meet demand. The PSA platform gave them instant visibility into resource availability and let them scale from 50-person to 2,000-person engagements.
There's 2 problems in consulting: too many people or not enough people. And managing all that and getting that balancing act is never-ending.
So Modus Create is a 350-person company. We're all around the world. We're in over 50 countries. Our teams do everything from custom product engineering to putting together amazing platforms and delivery pipelines to help engineering teams get awesome scale, awesome quality out in a secure way.
Prior to Operating, we didn't have a dedicated professional services automation platform in place. We were utilizing other tools that we had, in some ways misusing features and functionality of those tools.
One of the things I stepped into before we started using Operating was 10 answers to the same question. Never used a tool that didn't rely on spreadsheets or Slack messages or canvases or something that was stitching things together.
One of the things that makes Operating different for me was that it was immediately obvious to us that this had been built by people who had lived our world. The power of the AI capability and specifically the MCP server within Operating allows us to have an even more robust sense of resource availability and options when we're trying to build out a team plan. Having gone through past experiences of growing from small team to a large team, I'm excited about what that's going to look like for us in our new world here with operating. 'Cause in the past, my experience was doing that and we scaled the spreadsheet. We've scaled spreadsheets from 50, 300, you know, 2,000 people. For us, operating is the heart of how we manage our day-to-day with our customers and our team members. So being able to have a foundation that gives us the power to grow quickly is something I'm very excited about.
