Coming in for Golden State, LJ Cryer making his first NBA appearance, comes in. Cryer takes a 3 off the dribble, it's good! The first NBA basket for LJ Cryer. Congratulations to him, that's something he'll never ever forget.
I'm on a 2-way contract, so it means I can kind of go back and forth with the Santa Cruz Warriors and the Golden State Warriors. Cryer for 3, bingo! I spent a lot of time with Santa Cruz this year, with me being a rookie, getting to develop and learning the pro game, which is different from college. I mean, it's basketball at the end of the day, but it's a lot faster-paced and free-flowing at this level. So I've been able to adjust playing in the G League and been able to play through a lot of mistakes and things like that so I can grow as a player. Whenever my name is called up here, I'm definitely going to be prepared for it due to all the reps that I'm getting in the G League.
Step back for LJ, it's good!
LJ Cryer! My role in Santa Cruz is kind of— I have to be a leader, especially with me being on the 2A. A lot of guys on the team, they aren't around these guys that I get to be around while I'm up in Golden State. So when I'm up here, I get to learn from Steph Curry, Draymond, and the rest of the guys and soak in all the knowledge. And then whenever I go to Santa Cruz, I get to pass that knowledge on to the guys. and, you know, just help be that coach on the floor for my team. So I wouldn't say I play a Steph Curry role for Santa Cruz, but from like a leadership standpoint, I play a similar role with that team.
Cryer, deep one, got it!
But when I get called up here, I think for right now it's just to be a sponge and just continue to grow and listen to those guys.
Cryer for 3, it's up and good! That's gotta feel magnificent for that young man. I mean, Santa Cruz and Golden State are 2 Every day is really similar.
We kind of run some of the same plays. I mean, it's different having to just be able to adapt to anything at any given moment, but it's a great problem to have. So, you know, I probably— I don't pay too much mind or too much attention to it. I just look at it as another opportunity that I get, whether I get called up or not.
Cryer has been instrumental these last few games. Stay ready.
Your name could get called at any Given time. So every single day you got to come, come with it to work and just put your best foot forward so you can be prepared.
Open for 3, calling long distance, and he's got the answer! Oh my. Welcome home, LJ Cryer.
