In my years of experience in working with Latino immigrants and US born Latinos who grew up in poverty, I've seen that they consistently do these seven things to become successful in America. And the last one that I mentioned is the most important one. Latino immigrants and Latino born in the US who grew up in poverty and still become financially successful don't get lucky. They make different choices. Now, here's what they do. Number one, they work hard, but they don't stop there. They just don't work to survive. They work to build, they start businesses, they invest, they save, and they learn how money works. Number two, they refuse to put limits on their own growth. They don't say, this is the hand I was dealt with, so this is as far as I go. They say this is the land of opportunity and I can grow too. Number three, they have a different mindset. They understand the rules are new, the language is new, the financial system is new. It takes longer, it's harder, but they stay patient and stay learning. Number four, they face obstacles and don't quit. Language barriers, hard jobs, no roadmap. They know nobody's going to have it harder than them, but they still push through. Number five, they practice delayed gratification. They don't try to look rich. They focus on becoming stable first. Number six, they don't live in a victim mindset. They know the system isn't perfect, but they also know quitting won't change their future. And number seven, the most important one, they have a vision bigger than themselves. Providing for family, helping others, creating opportunities they never had. And this is how lives get turned around. This is how examples are set and this how legacies are built.
