In this motivational solo talk, Louis Barajas argues that despite the abundance of free financial information, Latino wealth gaps persist because information alone does not create wealth. He explains that true financial progress requires a mindset shift that turns knowledge into action, defining wisdom as "information plus action." Drawing on nearly four decades of experience working with Latino families, Barajas emphasizes that beliefs, vision, and personal purpose drive saving and investing habits. He introduces his book, Finanzas con Corazón: The Latino Journey to Financial Dignity, which focuses on reshaping money mindsets rather than merely teaching strategies. Finally, he invites viewers to join his community aimed at sparking a "Latino Economic Revolution," positioning collective mindset change as the catalyst for broader community wealth transformation.

Now here's something that might surprise you. Information has never been cheaper, but financial freedom has never been harder for so many Latinos. Now, when I got into this business back in the '80s, there were no internet, no smartphones, no YouTube, no ChatGPT, no podcast. And if you wanted financial information, you had to pay a lot of money to an accountant, a stockbroker, or spend hours at the library. Today, most of that information is free. So here's my question: If information is free, why does the wealth gap keep getting bigger for Latinos? Why are so many people still living paycheck to paycheck? Why are there millions of Latinos still not saving enough for retirement? Because information doesn't create wealth, guys. Action creates wealth. Knowledge by itself doesn't change lives. Wisdom does. And to me, wisdom is simple. Wisdom equals information plus action. But here's what I've learned after nearly 4 decades of working with families: action doesn't start with information. Action starts with mindset. Now, if someone believes they'll never get ahead, they probably won't save. If they don't have a vision for their future, they won't invest in it. If they don't know why they're building wealth, they'll always find a reason to spend it instead. That's why I wrote Finanzas con Corazón: The Latino Journey to Financial Dignity. The book isn't just about teaching financial strategies. There are thousands of places to learn those. It's about helping our community change the way we think about money. It's about becoming aware of the beliefs we've inherited Finding clarity about what truly matters and discovering the personal reasons that make saving, investing, and building wealth worth the sacrifice. Because wealth isn't built in a bank account first, it's built in a mindset first. Once your mindset changes, the habits begin to change. Once your habits change, your finance— your financial life begins to change. And that's how families change, and that's how communities change. And please follow me to be part of our community creating the Latino Economic Revolution.
