I want you to be the monkey that climbs the ladder. So let me tell you a strange experiment about 5 monkeys. Researchers put 5 monkeys in a cage with a ladder and some bananas on top of that ladder. Every time one monkey tried to climb the ladder to get the bananas, the researchers sprayed all of them with freezing water. Now, pretty soon, whenever one monkey tried to climb the ladder, the other monkeys would pull them down so they wouldn't get sprayed with the cold water. Eventually, none of the monkeys climbed the ladder. Then the researchers, what'd they do? They started replacing one monkey with a new one. The first thing the new one did Well, you got it. They tried to climb the ladder. The other monkeys pulled them down and didn't get them to get the bananas. So one by one, they replaced all the monkeys until none of the original monkeys were left. Now here's the crazy part. None of the remaining monkeys had ever been sprayed with cold water, but they still held on to anyone who tried to climb that ladder. Why? Because that's just the way things have been always done. And sometimes that's exactly what happens with us. People say things like investing is risky, people like us don't build wealth, debt is normal, we'll never get ahead. Nobody questions it, they just repeat what everyone else says. But if you want a different future, sometimes you have to be that monkey that breaks through and climbs the ladder. That's what Finanzas con Corazón is about, finding the courage to break through no matter what your family, friends, or community has led you to believe. Please follow me, like and share, and tell me about any beliefs that your parents told you that have ever held you back.
