Louis Barajas says everyone has a financial plan, usually one that defaults to "later" or "work harder." He walks through a five-step yellow pad method: write your goals and why they matter, list debts and interest rates, name your income sources, inventory what you have, and track where money goes now. Writing it down turns wishful thinking into something real.

So let's talk today about financial planning. Now, when I ask a person if they have a financial plan, 99% of the people that I meet say no, they don't have a financial plan. But I always say everyone has a financial plan. Yeah, even you. Now, you might be thinking, Louis, I don't have a plan. No, no, no, you do have a plan. Now, your plan might be, I'll figure it out later, or I'll deal with it mañana, or I'll just work harder and hope that everything works out. That's a plan. But here's the problem. Some people fail to plan and other people literally plan to fail. So now listen, Creating a real financial plan is not complicated. It's not some 30-page report with charts and graphs. You don't need all that right now. Start simple. Grab a yellow pad. Yeah, old school, but just grab a yellow pad and just write. What do I want? And be real with yourself. Get clear on what you truly want and why it matters to you. What do I owe? And what are the interest rates on that debt? How much money do I make? What's actually coming in? What resources do I have available? What kind of savings, support, skills, opportunities? And where's my money going? Track it because this one right here will open your eyes. That's it. Bullet points, not perfection, just some clarity. Because here's the truth: if it isn't written, it isn't real. So when it stays in your head, it's just ideas, sueños, wishes. But when you write it down, now it's a plan. Now you can move. Now you can build. Mira, our parents taught us how to work hard. Now it's our turn to learn how to plan smart. That's how we go from struggle to financial dignity. And please help our Finanzas con Corazón community grow by following my page, liking and engaging, and be part of creating Latino economic revolution, and tell me in the comment section if you have a plan.
