In this second installment of his investing series, Louis Barajas emphasizes that investors should move beyond superficial financial goals—such as buying a house, funding education, or caring for parents—and instead uncover the deeper emotional motivations behind those goals. He demonstrates this by repeatedly asking "why" to reveal underlying desires like providing a stable environment for children, preserving family memories, exercising personal freedom, or ensuring parents' dignity in their final years. Barajas argues that the stronger and more personal the "why," the greater the commitment to investment strategies, and that financial decisions should be tied to the life one wants to build rather than merely to money. He ties this philosophy to his brand, Finanzas con Corazón, and invites viewers—particularly within the Latino community—to follow him and read his upcoming book (available July 15 on Amazon) to discover their own financial why and achieve financial dignity.

Hey, so this is part 2 of the investing video I wasn't planning to make. Now, if you haven't watched part 1, go back and watch it first because this will make a lot more sense. Now, the prior one doesn't say part 1, it's just the one right before this one, okay? So in that video I said don't start with the investment, start with the goal. Are you investing to buy a home, start a business, pay for your kids' education, care for your parents, or create financial freedom? That's what we talked about. Those are all great goals, but here's the problem: they're still not deep enough. Because when someone tells me I want to buy a house, I always ask why. They'll say because I want to own a home. And I said, no, that's what you want. I'm asking you why you want it. Maybe it's because you want your children to grow up in a stable home or a stable community. Or maybe it's because you want a place where your family can make memories for years to come. Or maybe it's because you want the freedom to paint the walls any color you want without asking for permission. Or maybe it's because you never want to receive that letter from the landlord telling that you're going to have to move out because they're renting the home to some family member. Now we're getting somewhere, right? Let's try another example. Or maybe you tell me you want to take care of your parents, and I'll ask you again why. Because you want them to live their final years with dignity. Because after everything they sacrifice for you, you want them to feel like safe, respected, and cared for. Now, that's a very different reason than simply saying, "I want to make more money with my money." The deeper your why, the stronger your commitment. Your investments should be never connected to just money. They should be connected to the life you want to build and the people you want to love. Now, that's what Finanzas con Corazón is all about. And if this message spoke to you, I'd love for you to follow me. And if you're ready to discover your own financial why, to build that picture on the puzzle box for your life that I always talk about? Well, then I invite you to read my new book, Finanzas con Corazón. It'll be available on Amazon on July 15th, and I wrote it to help our Latino community to find clarity, purpose, confidence, and ultimately financial dignity. I truly believe that when you know your why, everything else becomes possible.
