In this inspirational monologue, Louis Barajas—son of Mexican immigrants from East LA, first‑generation college graduate, and a wealth/business manager for Latino entertainers—shares his personal journey of long‑term struggle, financial hardship, and slow business growth. He reflects on a church teaching that “God’s delays are not God’s denials,” explaining how years of setbacks taught him patience, humility, compassion, and deeper lessons that success alone could not provide. Barajas contrasts his public achievements (TV appearance on Opportunity Knocks, recognition as a top manager, books, podcasts, speaking engagements) with the decades of unseen preparation, sacrifices, betrayals, and sleepless nights that preceded them. He encourages listeners who feel stuck to keep working, growing, and believing, emphasizing that blessings often arrive after God finishes preparing us. The talk ends with a call to follow him and join the “Finanzas con Corazón” community, which promotes the idea that one’s past does not define the future.

I heard something in church years ago that stayed with me. It says, God's delays are not God's denials. Now, there were seasons in my life when I honestly wondered if I had missed my opportunity. I grew up in East LA, uh, the son of Mexican immigrants. I was the first in my family to go to college. I worked really hard, I sacrificed, I kept showing up, but many of the things that I prayed for didn't happen when I thought they should. There were years when I struggled financially, years when my businesses didn't grow as fast as I wanted them to grow. Years when I watched other people seem to move forward while I was still just fighting just to keep moving forward. I wondered why things were taking so long, why the doors weren't opening, why the recognition wasn't coming, why the impact I dreamed about seemed so far away. But looking back now, I realize something. If God had given me everything I wanted when I wanted it, I don't think I would have been ready for it. The delays taught me patience. The setbacks, those taught me humility. And the struggles, taught me compassion for people who are hurting. The failures, those taught me lessons that success never could. Today, people see the successful businesses, they see me on the television series Opportunity Knocks, they see me being recognized as one of the top wealth and business managers serving Latino entertainers, they see the books, the podcasts, the speaking engagements, but what they don't see are the decades of preparation behind them. They don't see the setbacks, the disappointments, the sacrifices, the betrayals, the sleepless nights, the moments when I questioned whether any of it would ever happen. So if you're feeling stuck right now, I want to encourage you, just because it's taking longer than you hoped doesn't mean it's not going to happen. Keep doing the work, guys. Keep growing, keep believing, because sometimes God's greatest gifts arrive after he's finished preparing us to receive them. Remember, God's delays are not God's denials, and sometimes a blessing isn't just what you receive, it's who you become while you're waiting.
