In this motivational video, the speaker, Louis Barajas, returns from the Celebrando Latinas conference in Chula Vista, where over 1,000 Latina women gathered to discuss entrepreneurship. He shares his observations that these women are driven not merely by personal profit but by the desire to provide opportunities for their children, care for aging parents, and achieve freedom that balances family and work. Barajas references his 40‑year experience with entrepreneurs and his books—Small Business, Big Life for Women and its Spanish edition Microempresa, Mega Vida para Mujeres—which argue that women define business success as a blend of profitability, time with family, security, and personal choice. He urges Latina entrepreneurs to keep building, learn financial fundamentals, charge their worth, and embrace wealth creation without guilt, emphasizing that the wealth they generate can uplift entire families and future generations. The video concludes with a call to action to seek financial education or coaching via his website, louisbarajas.com.

I just came back from Celebrando Latinas, a conference attended by more than 1,000 Latina women in Chula Vista, California, and I have something to tell you. I left inspired. I had the opportunity to speak and lead a workshop there. I don't think I've ever been around so many Latina women who were this hungry to build something of their own, to start businesses, to create wealth, to become financially independent, and overcome some of the barriers that Latina women still face in this country. But here's what really struck me when I talked to these women. about wanting to make more money, very few of them talked about making money just for themselves. They talked about their children, their families, giving their kids opportunities they never had, and being able to take care of their mother and father someday. Having enough freedom that they don't have to choose between being there for their family and earning a living. That's why so many Latina women want to build businesses. It's just not about making more money. It's about what money allows them to do for the people that they love. Now, That's why several years ago I wrote a book called Small Business, Big Life for Women, and also I did it in Spanish, Microempresa, Mega Vida para Mujeres, because I spent more than 40 years working with entrepreneurs and I've learned that women often define business success very differently than men. Yes, they want profitable businesses, but they also want a life. They want time with their kids. They want choices. They want security. And they also want to create something that makes their families' lives better without sacrificing everything that's important to them along the way. And to the women I've met this weekend and every Latina entrepreneur watching this, I see you. I see your hunger. I see your ambition. And I see how badly you want something different for the next generation. So all I can say is keep going, keep building those businesses, learn the numbers, charge what you're worth, build wealth, and don't ever feel guilty about wanting to make more money. Because when a Latina creates wealth, well, that money rarely stops with them. It can change their entire trajectory of their family and sometimes for future generations.
