In this YouTube monologue, the speaker recounts attending the Film Fiesta in Santa Ana, California—a festival showcasing Latino filmmakers—while noting the disappointing low turnout despite the city’s large Spanish‑speaking population. He argues that the Latino community must actively support its own creators by attending events, buying tickets, sharing work, recommending businesses, and simply being present. Emphasizing a shift from a scarcity mindset to one of abundance, he links community support to closing the wealth gap, strengthening neighborhoods, and creating opportunities for future generations. The speaker urges listeners to invest time, presence, and encouragement in one another and invites them to follow his channel, Finances con Corazón, for more content.

Hey guys, I'm currently in Brickell, Miami. But last weekend I was in Santa Ana, California at a film festival called the Film Fiesta where they were showcasing films and short films created by talented Latino filmmakers. Now Santa Ana has one of the highest concentrations of Spanish-speaking residents in the United States. But you know what disappointed me? The number of people who showed up or didn't show up. And I've said this before and I'll keep saying it: Latinos tenemos que apoyarnos unos a otros. We have to start showing up for each other. We talk about wanting more Latino representation in film, business, education, and leadership, but when our own people create something beautiful, something meaningful, something worth celebrating, where are we? We can't keep asking for opportunities if we're not willing to support the opportunities our own community is creating. And I'm not just talking about money. Sometimes supporting someone means buying a ticket, attending an event, sharing their work, recommending their business, or simply just being present. We have to move away from a scarcity mentality and towards a mentality of abundance and community, because when one Latino succeeds, that success can create Opportunities for others, but we have to participate. We have to be intentional. Necesitamos hacer el esfuerzo. And if we want to close the wealth gap, build stronger communities, and create opportunities for the next generation, we have to start investing in each other—not just with our own money, but with time, with our presence, and with encouragement. Because the community doesn't become stronger simply by hoping for change; it becomes stronger when it people show up for one another. Mi gente. Let's do better. We deserve that.
