So let me say something that I know is going to make some people uncomfortable. Porque ya me hicieron enojar. This is not about immigration anymore, because when US citizens born and raised here are being stopped, questioned, and even detained because of their skin color, that's not an immigration issue. That's something else. I was born in this country. I grew up here. I've built businesses here. I've paid a ton of taxes here. I've raised my kids here. This is our country, and somehow some of us are being made to feel like we have to prove we belong. Now, let me be clear, no American should ever have to prove their citizenship based on how they look. This is not a political issue. This is a human dignity issue, because the moment you start judging who belongs based on skin color, you're not protecting the country, you're weakening it. We can have laws, we can have borders, we can have order, but we cannot lose our values in the process, because what makes America strong is not just enforcement, it's equal protection for everyone. And for my Latino community, listen to me, you don't need permission to belong here. You already do. We're not asking for special treatment, just equal dignity, and that should never be up for debate.
