4th of July Bash with Gordy's Hi-Hat: Food, Drinks, and Fireworks

A first-person vlog by Chandler documenting a 4th of July trip to Minnesota with friend Keon. The video covers travel logistics (airport, smoky rental car), a drive to Duluth to see a boat parade, relaxed lake-side activities (hammock, fire), a recommended food stop at Gordy's Hi-Hat (seasonal burger/shake stand since ~1960), and the return trip home.

Hey, I like the dog. Don't touch him. Come on. Come on. Let's go. It's not a safe neighborhood. We're back. Well, I'm back. He's new. I am going to Minnesota in three hours. Keon was here. Oh, hey, this is Keon. He's here to hang out. Well, he was here to hang out at my house, but then I made him walk my dog with me. So this is where we're at right now. I was hungover last night. I'm sweating it all out. No one needs to know this. Shout out to Keon for driving us to the airport. Hi, I'm Keon. He's Keon. That's Chandler. And if you didn't know, she's also coming to Minnesota with me. Or I'm going to Minnesota with her. Can I go to Minnesota? No. Pro tip. Invite your friends over and then ask them to take you to the airport. No, Tia, I'm pulling us up. This might have been a terrible idea. Stay tuned. Bye, Keon. Thanks for trying to murder us.
Bye. You may now use your cell phone to transmit love. Want to thank you for choosing Downtown. We appreciate your patience on this delayed rival. Once again, thank you for your consideration and letting tech connections get in the Islanders. We appreciate it. We hope you all had a great weekend.
And a great fourth of July car we ended up getting. I am just drove it. Not at a Costco, sadly. So the trip is already starting out all types of weird. And Chandler, what do you think of the car?
It looks pretty, but.
Yep, yep. Not very impressed. Got in the car. It smelled like smoke. Your homeboy asthmatic. So you already know he was not about that car smelling like smoke. And there was no gas in the car. Hence having to go right from the airport to the gas station. And he stopped to put gas in it. So it must have been like on empty. Empty. And side note, I got out of the car, thought I heard a bunch of gunshots, but forgot it's 4th of July weekend. So there's people already popping fireworks. So now we're headed to Duluth. Three hour car ride. So let's get started in this smoky ass, stinky ass car. Goodbye, Zoli. We have made it to the lake and we are here hanging out. Yep. Everyone. Hello. Everybody. We are late. Oh, we're. We're going to a boat parade. We are late. We had food time for the boat parade. Every year people gather on this lake.
And every year we are late for a parade.
And every year we are late. That is the way. So let's go.
Sat back on land.
Time to hang out and chill. And she's going back in the water. I'm gonna go hammock. Hammock and start the fire. Eee. You're we.
Sam.
Well, good morning or afternoon, whatever it is. Just gonna chill out today. Maybe go on the boat or on the other boat or none of that and just have hang out in the hammock all day. It's probably what's going to happen and maybe edit a little. But yeah, kind of in chill out mode. So let's go chill. Heading into town to get some Gordies and some other supplies. Let's go finish eating at Gordy's. We are full. It was delicious. They've been there since like 1960. Starting off with a little shack and going up to a big old building. And they're only open in the summer. Only open in the summer. So if you're going to Duluth or Cloquet, stop by, get you one of them shakes, those burgers. But. And the fries. But you're gonna have to wait in line. There's always a line.
But it goes fast.
It goes fast, Sam. So Young Grop called and he said come home because you've been gone too long. So headed home. She's staying. Gotta do a two hour road trip back to the cities. So let's go.
I'm excited to stay, but I miss my dog.
Let's go. Been driving about two hours. Had a stop and get gas. Is this car nice? Yes. Does it drive nice? Yes. Would I rent it again? Yes. If it doesn't smell like smoke. If you don't care then I highly suggest that you rent this car. But I. It bothers me too much. But ancient Panamanian secret. If you rub Vicks in your nose then all you smell is Vicks. And the drive has been great since I haven't been able to smell the smoke. I'm just inhaling Vicks. But if smoke bothers you, then I don't recommend renting this car. It was. The price for it was super reasonable. I don't know if the dude smokes or if it just always smells like smoke, but that bothers me too much. Super close to the airport. Let's go home. Yeah, I'm home. Yeah, I am home. I am home. Yes. I am home. Yes. Who's home? Yeah, Mama's not home yet. She'll be back later.
Okay.
Hey, don't get mad at me. Talk to her, okay? Not me. You talk to her about it. That's it for this one, like subscribe.
