It is 5:30. Sun's already coming out. Last morning here. Going on a hike to the pillbox, then to eat, then some more stuff and then probably some packing because we need to do that so we can go home. So let's get started. So just completed the hike before the hike. Already tired. Going up to the P.O. box. There's not much, but I guess this is the only sign that it's that way. So let's go. Oh, it already looks hard. Made it to the top kind of hard. Don't come on a rainy day, otherwise you will slip and eat it. Yeah. The two pill boxes are over there. Pretty nice. And then the truck keeps going, and then it keeps going way over there. I don't know if you can see it, but there was a rainbow kind of sort of over there. But yeah. Nice views. Highly recommend coming in the morning at sunrise.
A lot of dragon fruit.
A lot of dragon fruit. So you might get lucky and be able to pick one off in the distance. Everything the light touches is Hawaii. So yes. Beautiful views. Recommend, especially this one. Whoa. All right, we're pretty hungry, so it's time to nom on some food.
Yeah, I'm starving.
And do some other stuff. Let's go. Last day adventures ahead. Side note, a lot of people from Texas and Hawaii, especially from Austin, Hence, they like my shirt. This is the third time me wearing it because I like compliments. Who doesn't? And hookums and shakas. Let's go. We did it. We did it. We did it. Loisimos. 45 minutes to go up, 30 to come down. If you just roll down the hill.
It'S a half mile each way.
Yeah, half.
It's just pretty steep and kind of rocky.
Yep, Rocky. Take your time. Watch out for the rocks. And you're gonna have to do some rock climbing and dirt.
They have ropes, though, to help you on the really steep parts.
Just the beginning, though.
There's a lot of trees type of movies.
Yeah. And then watch out for the hidden booby traps. The little metal sticks sticking up from the dirt. That's a real thing. So watch your step. That's it. Time to go get some food. Made it to morning brew. Gonna see if they have some good food. It's pretty close to a pillbox, so let's get to it. Bacon, maple, bacon waffles, some strawberry lavender, CBD juice, some Arnold Palmer with lilikoi. Haven't tried it yet. And then Belgian waffle with chocolate chips and fruit. I actually got a French toast, but they let me keep this while they make my French toast.
I accidentally pressed the wrong button.
They pressed the wrong button. So all in all, it looks pretty good. Good little spot. I was surprised they actually had food at the coffee place. So we'll see. Wait for the French toast. Eat this while we wait. Brioche French toast came. It looks pretty delicious. Both of those waffles were good. I had half of it. The Armand Palmer was very lemonade. I had to drink half of it and then put water in it. It was really sour. So time to eat the French toast. Food was good, decently priced, nothing too crazy. It was. There was a line the whole time we were there, so it's popping. Didn't get the coffee, but it looked good. So all in all, would Recommend, right? Like 10 minutes from pillbox hike. So now right across from Maui Brewing. Yeah, there's a lot of little shopping centers right around here. And it's funny, there's a Starbucks right on the other side. Yet this place is busy and getting coffee. So, you know, it's good. Now we're going to the botanical garden. It's gonna open right when we get there, so hopefully it's not too packed. Let's go. So we made it to the first spot, which is the last spot on the map. The lady suggested we go to that one first and then just make our way forward. I will probably make this whole place a separate video because there's so much stuff here. And it's free, which is mind blowing. But I'll probably put snippets of it in my day video and just make another one about the whole place because there's a lot to see here. We're gonna see it all. So let's get to it. The good thing about this botanical garden are the views, but also that every spot has a bathroom. So a very good pooping spot for free. But it's on outside, so the air comes in and you get a cool breeze while you're pooping. And all the stank leaves the stall.
That doesn't mean you copy anything.
I have been informed by upper management that the proper way to say it is open air. So open air ventilation. What the hell are those people doing? I think they think it's their car. Oh, that's funny. Oh, how long till they notice? Oh, he's trying really hard. Oh, my God. That's so freaking funny. Oh, God. Oh. Oh, they just noticed. Oh, awkward. All right, we are done with the botanical garden, and now we got a little lost. We found ourselves. We found the car. It's over there. Time to go get some food before it closes. Yeah, let's go. Not all cops in Hawaii drive cop cars. Like this cop right here. He's driving a regular car. The only way you know is that they have those blue lights on the top. And they usually have them on all the time, so watch out. They drive Toyotas for some reason with a little blue lights on top. But there are still cops. They'll still pull you over. Haven't gotten a ticket yet. Cozy little place. Interesting. Prices for Mexican food are a little high, so not too excited about that. But there are Hispanics going there, so positive sign. We will see when the food shows up. Jamaica drink, which is just hibiscus tea with sugar. We'll see how it is. Not bad. Not bad. All right, all right. Still. Still waiting for the food. So we'll see how it tastes. But Jamaica tea isn't bad. So Chandler just had some.
I took a big gulp thinking it was just hibiscus tea. I love hibiscus tea.
Hibiscus tea and Jamaica aren't on the same level. If you go. If you go to the store and get hibiscus tea, it's not going to taste the same as Jamaica. It's prepared differently. And it's not just hibiscus teabags. It's like, it's. I'd say it's stronger. Stronger flavor with sugar in it.
I am drinking my hydration multiplier. You'll learn about that soon.
I like it. So still. Still waiting. Gonna go check on the food again. Yep. She's. She was not expecting that. Yeah, she was not expecting that. All right, all right. Shout out. Handy van for recommending this place. Got one single chicken taco.
Mexican style.
Mexican style. Which just means cilantro and onions on it. Flour is definitely homemade. Oh, that. Carne asada fries. And then what'd you get?
Enchilada plate.
Enchilada plate. And they jam packed it, so I'm pretty impressed. So far so good.
It was a little.
Food looks good.
It looks really good. It was like, cost a little bit of money, but, like, you get a lot of.
Yeah. Cost a little bit more than Texas, but I guess as to be expected. Meat here is expensive. So time to eat. Let you know how it is. So far, so good. Chicken's not bad. The green salsa is not very spicy. But we'll see about the red one. Oh.
Oops.
Oops. How's the food so far?
We only had the rice and beans.
How are they? Very good. Very good. Yep. Rice and beans. Asada fries are decent. The sauce is pretty, pretty good. It's spicy, but I like spicy. So I'm getting full. It's really good. Yeah. Chance getting full. She likes enchiladas. I'd say. I still like the surf and salsa's carne asada fries a little bit more. But all in all, it's good.
I would get it again.
It's good. Channel. Get it again. Recommend Mexican restaurant L in Hawaii. What's it called? El Palanque. Yeah, El Palanque. So not too bad. Right off of Avocado Street. Very good. We have some leftovers. And now because we didn't eat enough, we're gonna get shave ice one last time. Not shaved shave ice, shaved ice.
So let's do it.
Let's go. Just got to Matsu Moto shave ice and the line is crazy long. Better get in it. Shout out. Chan. She already got in line while I was looking for parking. Let's go find her. Apparently this general store shave ice place, it's the bomb. Just lining up, going. It's crazy long. Finally inside, this lady takes your order and then you pay up there. Line move fairly quickly and it's super long outside, but not too bad. I'd say 30 minutes for some good shave ice. We'll see how it is. Definitely worth the wait. I ended up getting the masumoto. Chan got the tropical. Got the tropical.
Passion fruit. Papaya and guava with condensed milk.
Yep. Definitely. I can see how they're number one on the island. It's pretty good. Back to eating. And the line wasn't too bad at all. They have it down to a science in there. They're a well oiled machine. Back to eating. Since 1951, Matsumoto has been slinging shaved ice. And it's real good. My favorite was not pomegranate.
They don't have pomegranate. Pomegranate.
It was. What was it?
Passion fruit.
Passion fruit. If you had to get one, I would definitely suggest getting lilikoi. The line's always long because it's the best condensed milk. But it's delicious. Get it with condensed milk. What your verdict?
I think lilikoi was very good. I was really full first. So large was too much. But the large and the small are pretty similar in size. They're only $0.50 difference.
Yep. But to taste delicious. Get it?
Try all the flavors you want.
Try all the flavors now. 38 flavors. Delicious. All right, it's time for us to go. Bye. We just made it to the last Costco, the fourth Costco in Hawaii. It popped up on us. We did it. We went to all four. See, it's proof. That's it. We're going in. We're doing it. So what are we buying? Stay tuned. Don't sleep on Costco. They have everything and practically sponsored our trip. They didn't sponsor it, but we bought everything we needed from Costco. But we're bringing back two more umbrellas. These saved our trip and for only $25 got this deal online. They're like 90. So buying some to take back to Texas with us because they're that good and we'll probably use them and give them to family. But we'll see how much it is to ship it from Hawaii to Texas. Stay tuned. Oh, and they started selling those cool surfboards. If I could, I'd be tempted to buy a paddle board at a Costco and send it back to Texas because they're super cheap. Here. 200 to $400. We're in Texas. They're like 800. Yeah. And they're blow up. Thank you. So 25 for an umbrella and I think it was like 40 for chairs. A steel. So if you're a for it, buy them, use them and then take them home with you. Almost got ran over by this truck, dude.
Not very mahalo.
Not mahalo of him. But now to FedEx to try and ship all this stuff to Texas. Stay tuned to see if I can do it. Because if I can do it, you can do it too. Gotta fill up the gas tank. 363 here was almost 450 at a regular gas station. Go to Costco for your gas. Once again you'll thank me. Went to FedEx. It was cheaper to ship the umbrellas but not the chairs. So probably gonna take the chairs with us on the airplane. We will see about that. Had to pay $15 to try and get the car washed. Vacuum all of the sand out of it. Tantanalis lookout does close at sunset, but right before you get to it, there is some parking where you can hang out and watch the skyline. At night it's windy. But I do recommend that right now we are not a tantalize lookout anymore. We are also not at home. Not at home. We are trying to go to bar Leather Apron. So we'll see if we get in. Yeah. For a third time. No dice. Three times was too many. So don't know what we're gonna do now. So that's the end. We made it back. There's no glorious ending. No epic night out. Just boring old getting shut down. Tails between the legs. Time to go home and pack. That's it for our Hawaii vacation. Like and subscribe. See you all around. Let's do this some other time. Peace.
