Discover Hawaii's Best Grocery Deals and Sweet Treats

A short vlog-style transcript of Luis Lan and Sam visiting a Costco in Hawaii and later a Molokai shaved ice stand. They compare Hawaii Costco products and prices to Texas (pineapple, lychees, strawberries, alcoholic beverages, local snacks), note Hawaiian-specific items (Aloha hard seltzer, Hawaiian coffee, macadamia products), shopping quirks (bring your own boxes, alcohol rules differ), and end with ordering a shaved ice 'special' with lilikoi, coconut cream, ice cream, and mochi.

This Hawaiian vacation sponsored by Chubby's. Not ready though. Today we are going to Costco. And then I don't know where else. Super jet lagged. Woke up at like 4 because of the 5 hour difference in time. Was able to fall back to sleep though. So 7. Now Costco opens at 9. Then we'll get the day started. But store just got to. The almighty Costco. It's raining. But it feels good. But. But it feels good. See, it's gone already. No, it's not. It's still raining. It's not raining as much. Pineapple yesterday. Eight bucks. Three bucks here. This is a good looking one. This isn't going.
Bye. Sure.
Oh, sorry. We're just going over here.
If you hear, if you hear Bird diners anywhere, it's absolutely for you.
Yeah.
Is that enough?
Yeah. Oh, let's get some of these. Make some bomb. Some bomb French toast. That's not bad. 7. Seven bucks for some lychees. Plus you don't see this. No, you don't see this in, in the States.
The mainland.
Yeah. Hawaii. Approved. Interesting. That's. Yeah, that's. We could use this in Texas. Lychee. Look at all these strawberries. You remember they wanted like five bucks for like a couple at that marketplace. Eight bucks for six count. One.
Literally cheaper.
Five bucks? Yeah. Five bucks for 12 count. Yeah.
Oh.
So I guess in Hawaii you can have your hard alcohol inside the Costcos. In Texas you have to have them at the store next to it, which people can go to. You don't need to be a Costco member to go into it. Interesting. Go Aloa Distillery. Premium rums. Oh. Huh. Honey and cacao. Oh, five bucks. Not bad. We're gonna head to this distillery, but might as well buy some right now for 30 bucks. Mai tais loaded. Bloody Mary mix. Oh. Pineapple passion rum cocktail. Oh, hello. Tito's Kirkland Irish liqueur. Irish whiskey. Nothing new. Said to be made by Jameson's, cannot confirm. Is this any different than Texas? Some stuff like the Hawaiian. Hawaiian mixes. Yeah. They have the Centauri over there, but they have that in Texas. Yeah, y'. All, y' all have a lot of noodles. Like I said, I shot them. There's a lot of different type of like ramen. Ramen noodles. Because in Texas you only have like this. Yeah, like ramen. Here there's a lot of those type. Like udon. We don't have these. Oh. Or that. Oh. Mud pie. Oh. Or this. Dang. They have a lot of different ones. Acai bowls. Oh. Boba Milk. Oh, dang. That looks good. That looks really acai.
It's sorbet. Oh. Yep. Yeah.
Don't have that in Texas, so I have to try it. I guess just get those and then go get, like, a handle of vodka or something.
Yeah.
Over here is expensive. I feel like, well, 31 bucks.
It's about 15.
Oh, 15, okay. That's fine. Oh, this.
Yeah.
That's interesting. Hello.
Ginger seltzer.
Do you want some ginger salsa? Yeah, I mean, we can try it.
Huh?
Aloha. Hard seltzer. Hawaii ginger. Interesting. My cafe latte. That's. We don't have that. Did it Hawaiian potato salad or potato or potato macaroni salad.
Huh.
Oolong tea, no sugar. I don't know for 16 bucks, though. Oh, 24.
Did you know that I can. I watched them make a matcha latte. It's literally just matcha powder and milk.
Whoa. Don't. Yeah, we don't. Don't have that.
This looks yummy.
Green tea.
No calories, but 17 for four.
Oh, it's a 24 pack. 24 packs. So like a whole. Yeah, 16.
That's kind of good.
Yeah, that's not bad, huh? Interesting. I like green tea or shaka.
Hawaiian gingerade. Oh, ginger lemonade.
Big Island Interesting.
Grapefruit honey tea. Oh.
Oh, yeah. We get this one. This one. I've never seen this one. Yeah, they do. That's. Yeah. We don't have this one. We don't have this one. Vanilla macadamia nut organic French toast. Yeah. Hawaiian coffee. Oh, cow coffee. Hawaiian. Oh, we have this. We have this one in Texas. That's the one I get. Aloha lilikoi. Passion strawberry. Guava. Huh? Green tea. Ginseng. This iced tea with lemon flavor. Lemon flavor. Oh, passion. Orange. Hawaiian sun. Yeah. Guava nectar, very koi. Passion. Interesting. Hawaiian macadamia. Premium culinary oil, locally Growned and produced. Sixteen bucks, though. Jack Daniels. No, no, no. Gonna have to do the tin can mystery barbecue sauce. See how that. That makes the ribs taste a lot of different. Fish jerkies. Tuna jerky. Ahisakura turkey, four bucks. Wagubi turkey. Can't forget your reef safe sunscreen. Didn't bring any, but it looks the same as some of the stuff we have at home. Oh, and you definitely gotta cop your Tommy Bahama lawn chair for the beach fish jerky. I think we'll pass on that Costco trip.
Success.
One thing, you have to bring your own boxes because they won't have them at the front. So bring your own boxes as you shop. About it?
Yep.
Now to Molokai shaved ice. Bye. Bye. Sam, what's the difference between the jumbo and the special bowl?
Special, boy, is Picho 1P5. That's a jumbo.
Okay. Can I have the special with lilikoi and coconut cream? Yeah. And can I get the ice cream scoop in in it?
Do you have mochi balls?
Yes.
I'll do mochi balls too.
Thank you.
Anything else?
No.
$6.
