New 2023 requirements for Amazon Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP)

Amazon changed its Seller Fulfilled Prime requirements in 2023. The video breaks down new shipment metrics, delivery speed rules, and shipping options sellers need to meet. A fulfillment service called Kahoot is mentioned as a way to help sellers stay compliant.
Hi. Today we'll be talking about the changes coming to Amazon Seller Fulfilled prime program. A lot of changes took place on October 1, 2023, and we're recapping it for you. For those of you who aren't familiar, Amazon SFP is a program that lets sellers offer prime while shipping from their own warehouse. This program has not been available for a long time. And finally, things are changing. Basically, there are three main changes to the Seller Fulfilled prime program. One, on time shipment metric is now 93.5%. Two, faster nationwide delivery across all SKUs and three, Amazon buy shipping is optional. Let's take a look at the first change. On time delivery before, Amazon required that all orders received before cutoff time need to be shipped on the same day. But now they've stopped tracking that. And what's important is that you deliver on time. This is a change that can benefit sellers. Say you have two warehouses, one in California and one in New York. An order to Philadelphia comes in after New York's cutoff time, but Amazon says it must be delivered in two days. Before you would have to ship using two day air from California because your New York warehouse is finished for the day. But now you can ship it tomorrow using ground service that arrives in one day. So you still meet the on time delivery metric. However, the downside of this is that sellers are responsible for making sure carriers can deliver on time. We don't know yet how carrier delays like inclement weather are waived or penalized by Amazon. Before we continue, a quick word about us. If you're in the market for a fulfillment service that can help you achieve Amazon SFP's rigorous standards, look no further. Kahoot is the order fulfillment network for Seller Fulfilled Prime. We have helped many sellers fulfill SFP orders for years and we meet all the requirements, including weekend fulfillment and longer cutoff times. On top of that, we're also highly rated across platforms. If you want to learn more, head over to Kahoot AI sfp. Alright, moving on to the second big change. No more regional SFP for oversized. This is a major change for those with oversized SKUs. Before, you could ship oversized SKUs from one warehouse and limit your SFP coverage. That way you could meet the one day and two day delivery speed metrics with just one location. But now you can't limit your geography. Suddenly everyone in the country can see your oversized SKU listing, which will drop your delivery speed metric. You'll need more warehouses to maintain your metrics. And not only that, delivery speed metrics are becoming even harder to meet. This doubles the impact on oversized SKUs because not only do they lose the option to do regional SFP they now also are expected to deliver faster everywhere. So bottom line this means sellers will need to either ship more air or add more shipping locations to meet SFP delivery speed metrics. The last big change, Amazon Buy shipping is no longer mandatory for SFP orders. I believe this is a good thing. Many times we've seen Amazon buy shipping not offering a particular carrier service even though we're certain it can deliver on time. Now when this happens you can buy your own label elsewhere without having to explain to Amazon. Previously Amazon also announced an additional 2% fee based on item price but there has been news about this portion being cancelled so we don't have to talk about it. Thanks for joining us today. We hope this is insightful. We have tons more content on SFP and Amazon on our website. Head over to Kahoot AI SFP to learn more.
