Michael Payne from Highland Water Sports explains how joining Cahoot's peer-to-peer fulfillment network cut his shipping costs and delivery times. Merchants share inventory to get orders to customers faster and cheaper than traditional warehousing.
Hi, my name is Manish Chaudhary. I'm the founder and CEO of Kahoot. I'm here with one of our merchants, Michael Payne from Highland Water Sports. Welcome, Michael. Thank you. Well, you have just joined and signed up with Kahoot. Can you tell us a little bit about your decision, why you chose to join?
Sure. So we do a lot of orders every month, and we live on the South Florida side of the country, and unfortunately, we do a lot of shipments over to California. So surfers tend to go between east coast to west coast. So I think this is a great way for us to save a lot.
Of money in shipping. Awesome. And I know that you had questions around trust, because this Kahoot network is all about working with a set of trusted merchants and putting your reputation, your performance metrics in the hands of others. And likewise, other prospects and other merchants who are considering joining the Kahoot network have the same concern. Could you talk a little bit about what put you at ease? Because I know that that's a real concern for many merchants like yourself.
Sure. Ye. We've spent years developing a reputation online with Amazon and trying to build good partnerships. So to us, it's critical that people that we work with treat this as a business and not a hobby. And that understanding that we have the same values that Amazon has, we're looking at the lifetime value of the customer. So knowing that we're on the same level as our partners was very important to us.
Thank you. And Michael, how important is shipping cost and transit time in today's world? And what do you think a solution like Kahoot can do for your business?
With our current environment, Amazon's taking everything from one week to two days now to prime now to two hours. So getting customers the orders that they want as quick as possible is huge.
It's a game changer. Awesome. And any final thoughts for merchants who might be on the fence, who have not met us? We have the privilege of meeting you in person, in flesh. And what message would you like to share? Because network like Kahoot, everybody benefits. When the network gets larger and larger and there's more merchants, there's greater overlap.
Sure. So I'd say just get to know your partners, go out to dinner, grab a coffee, whatever it takes. But together, we can accomplish a lot of great things. But nobody can do it alone in E Commerce.
