A short YouTube talk by Marcelle Pick explaining what bisphenol A (BPA) is, its health risks as an endocrine disruptor, and that common BPA-free substitutes (BPS, BPF) may have similar harms. The speaker identifies common sources of exposure (canned linings, receipts, plastic containers, heated plastics) and offers practical avoidance advice (use glass/steel, avoid reheating in plastic, don't touch receipts).

Hi, I'm Marcel Pick, women's health expert, best selling author and co founder of WomenToWomen.com at Women to Women, we help you eliminate uncomfortable symptoms and restore hormonal balance, adrenal and thyroid health and overall wellness so that you can finally feel like yourself again. You may have heard about bisphenol A or BPA on the news. BPA is what is called an endocrine disruptor and exposure has shown to lead to reproductive difficulties, problems with neurological function, metabolism and even reproductive cancers. BPA is commonly found in the lining of tin cans on store receipts. Yeah, that's right, store receipts. And in plastic storage containers and water bottles. These containers are especially harmful when exposed to heat heat since more BPA is released from the plastic when the temperature is raised, like in a microwave or in a hot car. You might think it's safe to use plastic bottles or containers if they say BPA free. But what you may not know is that the BPA free products you buy could be just as dangerous to your health. That's because the new chemicals that replace BPA in BPA free products are bisphenol S and F or BPs and BPF. They have very similar names, don't they? That's because their structures are very similar and they behave like bpa, which is why they were selected as replacements in the first place. So what are you supposed to do to keep yourself and your family healthy? So drink from steel or glass containers and never reheat food in plastic containers. Or put hot foods such as soup into plastic containers. And avoid touching paper receipts from stores. If you need the receipts, ask them to put it in a bag so you don't have to touch them. So to learn more about endocrine disruptors or to purchase our hormonal balance product system, go to womentowomen.com thank you so much.
