Oh, it's good to be back. It's been a minute, and it's good to be back. Got a lot of exciting stuff coming up, and it feels good. But it's also you know it kind of reminds me when I got pulled over when I was sixteen for the first time because it was like oh my gosh am I gonna go to jail? And it's kind of like this with the podcast because everyone goes you never miss a week, you never miss an episode. I've missed a few, but I've missed you. Some things were going on personally, and I chose to focus on family. And it's been a minute, but it's good to be back. And I have an all-star lineup coming. This was supposed to be—I'll just say it—it's 10:23 at night. I was supposed to be—I was all excited to come back and go, hey, and then get people on and. Because it's been over six months, and then the tech didn't work. And then the other surprise that I had get for the guest, it had been over twenty-four hours since the yesterday post. So then that disappeared, and it's honestly still not working hundred percent. But I go, you know what? I gotta do this because I just started thinking about stuff. Stuff. And it's surreal because I started this quite a while ago. I'm looking at the clock, I'm looking at the date, and I'm looking at what year it is, and I'm tempted to say it on here because it's been a minute. Screw it. Um, it's October of 2026, and I started doing this, and I just look back going, what the hell was I thinking? I had no freaking clue. I'm very confident with video and special effects, animation, all this, because I studied it. And everyone goes, oh, you're gonna start a show, you're gonna start a show, like, why are you doing it on video? Why are you doing it livestream? And I'm happy to say it's still solid. It's the same setup. I'm different. Um, this is probably one of the few episodes I'm not in the suit and tie and all that stuff, and I just I thought I had to do everything right, and I can assure you I have done close to everything wrong. But none of that matters because we're moving forward, and that's why I want to share this with you. And I'm going to title it the episode, and I even checked to see if some of the original episodes were in here. So here we go. Walter Wintle. I've, I've referenced this in a few episodes. I don't think I ever read the poem though, but it's The Man Who Thinks He Can. If you think you are beaten, you are. If you think you dare not, you don't. If you like to win but don't think you can't— but you think you can't. Let's try again. If you like to win but you think you can't, it's almost certain you won't. If you think you'll lose, you're lost. For out of the world— for out of— I need a nap. For out of the world we find success begins with a fellow's will. It's all in his state of mind. If you think you are outclassed, you are. You've got to think high to rise. You've got to be sure of yourself before you ever win the prize. A prize. Life's battles don't always go to the stronger or faster man, but sooner or later the man who wins is the man who thinks he can. It's been a minute, but I'm going to give you one guess where I'm at mentally, and I know I've already won. So I guess welcome back to Expert Authority Effect Interviews. I can't promise I'll ever take another break. I can almost assure you, I hope to God. It's not for 10 or 20 years. I don't know what's gonna happen. I didn't have anything that I thought would happen happen, or planned or whatever. And I, you know what, I get why creators and people that are just doing stuff on repeat. So here's the deal. If you don't have a podcast, it's probably one of the smartest things you could do for business. It is not a one-time deal. I've said this a million times when people go, should I start YouTube? Should I do a book? Or should I do the podcast? You do this one time. I haven't had to touch it for a while. Swipe the Amex Merry Christmas. It's done. When it's done, it's done. Just promote the heck out of it and have people and have a way to pay. This you got to keep going. YouTube channels, you got to keep going. Now I'm not knocking any of it because we're doing all of it, but there are pros and cons, and sometimes I have more immediate data right now. There's a lot of people who are doing all kinds of stuff for their time, sucking up time, energy, and money, and they're just constantly on the hamster wheel. And there's other people I know who are doing well, and they're not doing any of it. I think there's a happy medium because if, if you, if you're like me and you truly believe you're called to do this and inspire people and help people and truly transform their lives, you can't hide it like I was. And I don't think it was intentionally. It may have been. I— it just— there was— there still is. It's not that there isn't. There still is. But I think I'm ready. I think this is phase four. I had five stages of the show that I had as goals, and I blew through one and two pretty quickly. Three, yeah, I'd say I got to. I don't even remember what it was. I'm sure it's written down somewhere. But I go, you know, I have to hook up the one thing. But this just mentally everything. And it's surreal because the guest I have coming on— where's Aaron's book? Aaron, if you see this, this is for you. Uh, super excited to feature you. Like I said, honest to God, loved our call the other day. And I was ready to relax. I go, wait, wait, wait, wait, what do you tell everyone? What do you do in the trainings? And you go, always test the equipment. Well, I made an exception because she's awesome and worth it. So normally I test stuff on Monday and film on Tuesday. There's very rare instances where I haven't filmed on Tuesday, right when the show was starting, and then just for scheduling things early on. But we're going live tomorrow, or we're recording tomorrow. I don't know what the hell is going to happen, but this seems stable live. It seems stable recording. If you're ever in doubt, I would err on get a solid recording. You can always push it out live. Having her on the show tomorrow, give yourself a raise. The mindset and math you need to get to your first million. Aaron B. Haag, fantastic friend, awesome business owner, exited multiple companies. And she's just a powerhouse. And I asked her when we were at the last Genius meeting. No, no, no. When was it? Well, it was technically during the last meeting. I think I messaged her, text her, whatever it was, details. And I also have Perry coming up to build the largest snowboard company in Canada. He's, he's, he's on the new list. And I have dozens of people. And it's surreal because Carolyn, I saw you on here. I think you may be the one person I was commenting on the last thing. Appreciate you. It was so great connecting with you last June, over a year and a half ago. But there are so many things that have changed. And I did go live about 6 months ago. But it wasn't a lot. It wasn't the 3 to 5 full production that we were rocking at before. So there have been Major, major, major, major shifts. And I'm like, holy crap, some of the greatest things that have happened and the people I've met now have never seen the me that maybe you know. And I'm like, I don't even think I've seen the me. So I, I did the story on Facebook earlier, and, you know, church was good, and it was talking about, uh, You know, I. How can you be full of God if you're so full of yourself? Nah, that's what I took away from it. And I already started cleaning stuff up, like literally the office, figuratively everything. You know, there's all these like influxes and things, and there's just this. I was just feeling a turning point. And oh my gosh, did I scratch my ear, head, or whatever? Am I allowed to do? I. So let me tell you this real quick. Daniel Geffen. Great episode with him. I was—I don't know. Comment below if you're seeing this live. If you're seeing this on the page or whatever, go to the website. I don't know. Figure it out. You're smart. I was so paranoid. Like I can't show up without a shirt and tie. I would never have this on on my face. And then there were—I can't tell you how many times I went through the full episode and I just had to itch my nose or go like this or just whatever. And I just wanted the recording impeccable for you, I wouldn't do it. And now I'm like, just, I don't think you care. I really don't. And you know, it's only taken 8 years to learn that. But hey, you know what? Everyone can be an overnight success. So there's all these people I can't wait to have on. Oh, I have to give a shout out To Karen, I know I owe you a message, and we're going to approve more. And Mitko, I know I owe you a message. And for everyone else of our partners, I appreciate you. I'm back. So at least for now. And I don't envision that changing. It might be at a different pace than before because frankly, we have so many freaking kick But authors, that, that was the other thing. Business has grown, uh, met a lot of cool people, helped launch a lot more books. And frankly, there was a lot of stuff I did not need to do, and it continued. So I also am one of the people where it's like, you could be doing all this stuff, and I'm not saying I'm spinning my wheels, uh, unless it's drifting around the corner. Hey, Steph, that was an awesome car we had in Orlando. Oh, where's the Teriyaki Boys music? I'm hesitant because I even have who I'm going to load up as the surprise guest here to just fully test this out. But I got to be careful about the song. So it's going to be about 4 seconds and then I got to pause it. But what? I don't know. But I'm going to bring more value more consistently. And there's a whole lot of good stuff that I just Probably got too comfortable with. But isn't that the goal? Like, you're not supposed to be working 24 hours a day. And if you can just do a minimal amount, it's actually what I found with a lot of high-level business owners. It's like they have a show, but they might do an episode like every 2 months. It's like, I've been traveling and speaking and this and that. It's like you're doing actual real stuff. And I'm not saying if this is all you do, it's not, but it changes. And I Hope to God if you have a show and you're able to do it more like I did in the beginning, so much good is going to come from it. Keep going, but don't beat yourself up if you can't sustain it forever. And it's just food for thought, like the whole thing. I'm doing this so this happens. It will absolutely happen if you stick with it and you're not an idiot. Keep going, truly. But when you go, I have so many cool things that are going on now, I don't even have time to talk about them, which is also— is part of the problem. I've been training people for 2 decades. Like, if you're going to market your business, people need to know you're out there. Go 3 months without making one post and paying for the software. For I'm agitated with myself for a myriad of reasons. This was one of them. Ken, if you see this, this is another episode we're going to have to edit and get into the software and everything. Let's see. Is all right. Keep talking because oh Larry, Larry, if if you're still here. I hope you're doing well, brother. I do appreciate you. Um, and that's all I'm going to say because that's, that's your thing to say. But, uh, I hope you're doing good and get to see you at one of the next, uh, events. So just check and see if anyone is live, uh, which is probably a cardinal sin for podcasting because we're back to yelling at people for Come on, podcast isn't video. It's only audio. But everyone and their brother is now going, oh, have you heard of live streaming? Smidge. Smidge. So we're going to do one more test because that was the intent. And it's a 15-minute monologue. I mean, what are you going to do? SNL, where are you at? I'm around. So I queued up the thing. We go to here. We're going to thank the sponsor. And right after, what's this? Oh, I didn't redo the thing. Cued up the show, said hi, introduced the guests. We're going to thank our sponsor and be back. So this is what I tell everyone behind the scenes is the 2-shot. And since we're here playing around, it's loaded up and it's going to work. Yeah, I'm hesitating saying that, but, um, and I'm only gonna play the audio for a real quick clip, but, uh, we're gonna bring it up to test out and what impeccable timing we have because I'll tell you more in a second. Cue the sponsor. Sure, where to start? Get your free copy of my new book on book publishing at mariosfreebook.com and get your questions answered along with the start you've been looking for today. Once again, That's mariosfreebook.com. So you want to write your book, but you're not sure where to start? Get your free copy of my new book on BookPulp. And we are back. Da da da da. How how are you feeling? This and that. So this is a two-shot, and I'd be shocked if they slap me. But yeah, this was the post that was on Facebook, and. Uh, saw a great comedian, Crystal, and apparently you guys liked it, so I figured use it. Why not? It's honestly a recent thing from the show the other night. And then spent so much time with the stupid tech that when I went to cue it up, it was gone. So had to find it in the archive. But, um, that's the beauty of tech. So one shot, cue the sponsor. 2-shot. And that's normally where we live, but obviously that's an image. Now, if Crystal— you see, Crystal, if you see this, you were phenomenal the other night. When are you coming back to Detroit? Would be more than happy to feature you here. So there's that. And I was looking at the list in our internal documents the other day. There's a whole lot of cool— like, I'm so excited to bring you some Of the new people, there's I just wanted to follow through with what I said. A lot of my friends from Genius Network, they're I'm like yeah, I'd love to feature you this and that. Da da da da da da. And there's quite a few. And I never sent the email with the link because the calendar was all screwed up and I didn't know when I'd have time to record because the truth is I'm only doing this because I'm in town for a few days and then going leaving again. I had no intention of doing starting anything in October, and I go, you know what? This is the exact problem. I don't have time. I don't have time. I don't have time. And then it's the next year, and it's like it never happened. So I don't even think I'm doing this for me at this point. There's there's already like four hundred episodes of the show. I hope you're enjoying them. Like I don't need a few more, but I'm honest to God excited to bring you more of best of the best people. And there's also no shortage. There's a bunch of people on a waitlist, like 400 plus some, 386 or something. And then there's the other list with, I think, 52 or 56. So I, I don't know. I want to feature and help everyone, but it's just been a timing thing, um, family thing. And frankly, we're focusing on Oliver Gray author thing. And don't regret any of it. So I'm gonna do this, bring you more and everything. But I'm I don't know what the future holds. I'm not gonna say that this is gonna be every week fifteen times. Da da da da da da da da da. I know what it took to get to four hundred. Like, you know, we'll have a party when I hit the real goal of what I intended when I started. But part of me is like, I could do one a week, and honestly, before Christmas, I'm going to have enough recordings that I would not need to do this. For another year. And the other part of me kind of going nuts. I kind of want to go through all 400 and go rapid fire because they've been waiting. And so on one hand I feel bad, on the other hand I feel blessed. But, um, if no one knew— I don't know if you know, but, uh, I founded a book publishing company for business owners, and that's kind of the main business. So As much as I love and appreciate all my friends that go, oh, you need to check out his live streams, he's got a great show in the podcasting and his podcast, probably— I am a founder and CEO who has a podcast. This is not all I do 24/7. And truthfully, we got some new awesome softwares we've been developing also, in addition to the ones we already have. So there is a whole lot I have not talked about Excited to say I spoke at Genius Network in April. That was a long freaking time ago, it seems like. Also joined—that's new—Me Plus Ultra webinar going on tomorrow. Going to that event, excited about that. Interviewed an astronaut—that was over a year ago—and there's like 400,000 other things that I have not updated or done anything on. And super marketing genius over here. Oh, what am I going to write about in the new LinkedIn thing? If you haven't checked that out, you should and subscribe to that for sure. But how dumb that I didn't do an episode for everything that's happening and then just take it and repurpose it and put it over there. If only there was a mechanism where you could record something and distribute the audio and video, and you've been doing it for decades even before you started your own show and were doing other people's stuff. Unbelievable. So there's things just marinating, and I am very excited about this, not just to bring to you to wrap this up. But this has been stable for 21 minutes and 57, 8, 9, 22 seconds. I'm sorry, minutes. Whatever. So what do I say? Okay, is there any other questions? Is there? So this is another thing. I had all the monologue episodes planned out. I don't think I did but 5 or 6 of them. Like, if you haven't started a podcast, it's a really freaking good thing. Things start to take off, and then if you have to take a pause. Yeah, honestly, there was some bad family—not like my family's bad—but there was some things that took attention away a few times. But I probably could have done this sooner this year. But honestly, with all the authors we're helping, it's, it's a couple of— everything going on is really exciting and fun. Just, just saw this. I'm jacked out of my mind. There's like 5 or 6 more people I gotta talk to before, um, October's Genius Meeting. Out Thursday and Friday for that. Just got back from the one in Phoenix a few weeks ago and then going to Louisville. Like, I'm doing a week and a half worth of stuff in 3 days. It's fun. And when you do that, it's like the 3 to 5 episodes a show or week, 3 to 5 episodes show, 3 to 5 shows and whatever. When you do a lot in a small amount of time, you realize you can do a lot in a small amount of time. And if I could pull it off years ago with not the team, not the understanding Scared out of my mind as far as this, trying to piece together the rest and not at a point where I could do everything I wanted. Now I have everything laid out to do what I want. We've been investing in all this stuff and it honestly is sitting there. So accounting's not thrilled about that, and I'm like, do we keep— do we keep it and I do what I'm supposed to or feel like I'm led to? Or just start canceling a whole bunch of stuff and, and, and, and lose out on the 60 to 80% that we spent nearly a decade building up to and prayed about and cried about and worked towards and then suffered through and then got out on the other side to sweep it out under the rug and say thanks. Could. It's a whole lot less to manage. But honest to God, it's a lot of fun. And I don't even care if this isn't the main business. It's, it's making a difference. And I realize that. And I'm so thankful. So if you're listening, if you're watching, if you've ever done it— oh, I totally forgot about the other thing that I turned, switched over in April. When you get to a new point, it's a good thing. You deserve a break, but don't get complacent or comfortable because everything I'm talking about, there's stuff we put into motion last year. And it, it's not that I wanted to be whatever because I am never for a second trying to act like Nothing's wrong. I've achieved it all and everything's figured out is about the farthest thing from the truth. I've never changed my heart and I've never changed my game plan. I'm looking for more ways to help you. I'm looking for more ways to help our authors. I'm looking for more ways to serve. If people turn into clients or authors, that's great. If they don't, so be it. The world needs more good in it though. And you can control how much good you're putting out. And it might not return anything immediately. It might not return anything long term. But I don't care if the whole thing comes crashing down, frankly, like it did again, probably all my fault and could be prevented. I go, I don't care. There's a few things I'm not changing. And making a difference is one of them. It might change, it might vary, it might be whatever. And I go, um, and I was, I was, if you saw that, I was not happy. And I was like, oh, and then I go, you know what, you have literally everything at your disposal, more than you ever have. What in the heck is wrong with you? Throw it away, go back to the beginning, and spend the next four, five, six years building up what you already did. And then church today, they're talking about like being, you know, emptying yourself out, and I'm just like, huh. I don't know what's in store, but the last thing I'm gonna do is say I'm too busy and I can't paddle the surfboard God. Because— and Joe, if you see this, or anyone in Genius, uh, I really appreciated the contest. It made a difference. And I was freaking out the day before I submitted the form and then got irritated again, but very proud of myself because of what I did, but also irritated because I had done it the same way and it didn't completely work out perfect. Because the tech got in the way again and I pushed the limits way too freaking far. 3 seconds left on the deadline. I was gonna do something cheeky with like 10 or 11 minutes left and, oh, it's going to be perfect. And there's stuff that did not work out and it was my own freaking fault. Now, would I have done it a week sooner? No. Would I have done it even 3 hours sooner? No, because I had to process it. But I told you on the forum I already won, and I'm feeling it right now. And I think it perpetrated something, or instilled, or started, or I don't even know the word. That's what the editing team's for. Something's different, and I thank God for it because I was looking at our tools from the February meeting, and it said, "Where are you now?" And I literally have limbo written down. And maybe it was the three hours I spent looking at that, going really, this is this is your end-all be-all. This is your best. I should play that clip, but the whole copyright thing. Oh, also, I've never leaned back during the show. Think I might start doing it because if you're ever speaking, I learned this from Boeisen. We were having a burger in San Diego, and I was like, well, I gotta speak tomorrow, you know, and the thing and. You know, and they had us sitting down. Like, if you can walk around, obviously put your body in it. And I go, what do you do if you're— you have to sit there? It's like, lean into the seats on the edge of your chair. Like, take up as much space as you can and do the thing. Because so many people in a chair— don't do this on stage— just lean back and you're just like, oh, whatever. So I have in all the episodes to keep the framing, the lighting, and every And everything is this even recording? This better be. And have everything going okay, an optimal audio. If that cut out, my apologies. But that's the thing: people don't realize how subtle all the things are. And even let's see if we can get it. Yeah, even stuff like that—that's horrible. Don't ever do it. And it's like the composition and all this stuff. And so many people just— now I will make sure this is here, but I don't think I've ever just chilled out and was like— now I've done it on Zoom and I do it on the stuff where I'm not speaking or hosting the call, because sitting for hours completely like a board is up your back. But same thing in modeling, they used to put clothespins on their shirts for the suits and stuff. You want to make this look ironed? Stretch it out and put 14 clothespins up and down your back as tight as it can. So when it's sitting there, no matter what angle— yeah. Oh, that's fun— functional. Why wouldn't you want to be in sandals and board shorts on the water, relaxed? Like, yeah, you can do, uh, bathing suit or business suit, but I get it. And women with the heels, I can't even imagine. So, you know, for anyone going, oh, the grass is always greener on the other side— no, it's greener where you water it. So I don't know, I'm gonna get too relaxed. I was trying to chill out like 3 hours ago, but I am— there is something new happening. I might not fully understand it, so stay tuned. More good coming. And I don't know if I'm just doing this subconsciously just to document it. I don't know, but I know what the ultimate goal is, and this is part of it. So if I do 12 of these and disappear, hey, I'll be back, I'm sure. And if I don't, cool. Uh, and if this is ever— if this is the last broadcast I ever do for unforeseen circumstances, God willing that doesn't happen for like 100 more years, but I am so thankful that You help me get the show, listen, watch it, whatever. Because I, I right before I started felt I'm feeling like when I first launched it, it was October, and I don't think this is coincidence. And there's a whole thing, and I never changed the episode, episode zero or episode one. I remember distinctly. I don't know if it was the salon. Or it wasn't the gym back then, or food. It could have been a Jimmy John's with the gargantuan sub. I don't know what it was, but I was on Hall Road turned onto 94, and I think I was gonna go, uh, go to Kroger and go shopping. And I just started— like, something came over me and I just completely obliterated, like, probably every rule and regulation and all whatever. But I drove straight home and started recording the show, and I was recording the first episode while I was crying because I was so emotionally distraught over this thing I was excited to do and bring to you. And I don't know, I just never changed it. The intent was when I get to 100, I'll redo the opener or add to it. And then when I get to 200 and 300 and 400 and 500— Am I gonna do it at 6? I'll be honest, probably not. I don't need more on my plate. Only cool stuff and cool people. I might, I don't know, but it's here. I'm just walking out on faith again and taking another step, and I feel like I'm back. And there's a lot of reasons, uh, that probably shouldn't be the case, but you know what? I also feel like if I don't do this, could you live with yourself in As I do it, I am 100% confident one of the last things I wanted to achieve is about to happen, and that is surreal. And then we're going to have some real fun because this is me calm hiding. So let's see what's in store. Keep going, hey? Welcome to Expert Authority Effect Interviews. I hope you got a lot out of this one. La la la. Yodelay hee hoo.
