Should my wife have a different trust than me? 90% of the time? No. You're going to have a joint revocable living trust. It's easier, it's more efficient. You have marital assets together. That's why that works. If you have a prenup or a post nuptial, his, hers and our kids separate trusts, that would be really the only time it would make sense to have separate trusts is when you have a second marriage or a first marriage with prenups and then you want to keep things more separate. Other than that, go with a revocable living trust. And we do these at our law firm for clients all over the country starting at like 16, $1700. Never more than 2,500. It's a great deal and you can really get it done affordably. If you would be interested in getting to be a tax advisor for yourself or for others, just do a demo on my website. It's free.
