Sydney Kohler, a realtor at Sotheby's in Orange County, discusses which careers require college and which don't. Tax, law, and engineering need formal degrees, but real estate, contracting, and entrepreneurship can succeed without one. The key is networking and finding the right fit for your path.
You want to go into tax, you want to go into law, you got to go to school.
You
don't need to be an engineer, you want to be a contractor, you're going to have to do some school. Some people schools are really important fit. Some it's not. What's your name?
Sydney Kohler.
So Sydney is a realtor in Orange County, California. The youngest in the Sotheby's organization in Orange county closing multi million dollar homes. And that's what she's good at. She didn't need to go to college to do that. So not but there's great careers in college and not. But do you love what you do?
I do, I do. And it all came down to like getting into the group and meeting the right people. I just knew I needed to build my roots and grow where I knew I wanted a long term stay and I met the right people and I'm in the right groups and it was the right fit.
So you can be successful either way. Yeah, yeah. Sometimes people are so hard on you don't need to call college, you know, just be an entrepreneur and but some people you need that college door to open entrepreneurship up to them.
