Can I sell a property in a 1031 transaction and take that property at the end and put it in a trust? Yes, you better. Damn straight. Now, it may be in an LLC owned by your trust. It might go into a trust directly, but yeah, I want everybody to have a trust at the bottom. That's the trifecta. Everyone should have a trust. You know, 50% of Americans don't even have a will. Holy crap. You know, there's a multibillion dollar industry of probate lawyers, probate courts, probate judges, all because everybody thinks they're not going to die and they don't write a will. If everybody had a trust, there'd be no probate in the world. A freaking trust to own your LLCs, own your businesses, own your home, and you can do 1031 transactions in between LLCs, in between trusts.
