Mark Kohler says treat your rental like a business and pay your kids to help. They can do walkthroughs, cleaning, landscaping, bookkeeping, photos, and Airbnb tasks. It teaches them money and entrepreneurship while you get work done.
Do you have rental property? So many people don't think of rental property as a business, and it is. The kids can help out with the rental, just like with a farm or a store or an online business. It doesn't matter. A rental property is still a business that may need the help of your children. So congratulations, you have a business. The kids could help with walkthroughs, cleanup, landscaping, bookkeeping, listing photos, who knows what. It could be an Airbnb, and we know there's a lot of work there. This strategy is not just for full-time entrepreneurs, but rental property owners too.
