In an ideal world, your company that you run will be going in a direction that is something that you are so passionate about. It is your purpose. It is why you get up every morning. So how do you find that? How do you find that purpose? I did this personally, right when I made my decision to shut down my Investment bank in 2020. And so I went through a Japanese framework called ikigai. And ikigai is the intersection of what do you love? What does the world need? What are you good at? And what can you be paid for? When I answered all of those things, it was really clear to me that I should be a coach. And it was clear to me that the thing that I enjoyed the most in every single one of those roles was the one on one coaching and advisory conversations I had along the way.
