Skepticism over raising early capital - Jason Fried CEO at 37 signals, The Startup CEO SHOW

I'm anti VC when it comes to raising money early for a business that doesn't have anything yet. Like, I think the idea that people feel like they need to raise a bunch of money to start a business, I don't understand that. Unless, of course, again, like, you have massive capital expenditures and you're going to build a factory and. Or whatever, or you're in biotech and you need to do 10 years of research to launch a drug. Like, a different story if you're making B2B accounting software. Come on. Right. That's what I'm opposed to. I think, like, Shopify would probably would not be Shopify without the cash they eventually got. Many companies wouldn't be either. And I think that those companies had something going and then, like, that was accelerant for them, and that's what they wanted to do.
