The goal that I think we should all be working towards is how do we get enough assets to pay for our life? We never want to sell our assets. Why do we never want to sell our assets? We've moved ourselves from an owner to a consumer. Who does the tax code favor? Owners. So when I move myself voluntarily from an owner to a consumer, I've now reduced my ability to work inside of a debt-based monetary system. I've lost 25 to 50% of my wealth right off the top. I've broken the compounding that I would potentially get. And I've moved myself from a taxable situation of being an owner where I'm favorably taxed to a consumer where I get penalized the hardest. Those are 4 pretty good reasons why I wouldn't want to sell.
