Well, hello, my valued listeners, and welcome back to another episode of Living in Your Power. I'm your host, Dr. Marlene Greenleaf, and we are continuing our May series Rooted in Self-Worth: Healing, Growing, and Rising. Now, today's episode is entitled Boundaries Are Self-Love: Protecting Your Peace Because real self-love doesn't just speak, it acts. And one of the greatest acts of self-love you can ever give yourself is setting healthy, intentional boundaries. So let's breathe into this together. Boundaries are not barriers. Now, sometimes people think of boundaries as walls, Rigid, cold, and isolating. But healthy boundaries aren't walls. Boundaries are doors. They allow in what nurtures you and gently close to what drains you. Boundaries protect your mental health. Boundaries protect your purpose, and boundaries protect your peace. And I've said this several times, but I'll say it again. Saying no isn't selfish. It's sacred. Saying no is saying, I honor what God has placed inside me too much to allow anything and everything access to it. Now, why do we say boundaries are an act of self-love? Now, when you set a boundary, you're not rejecting others. You are in fact choosing yourself. You're saying, I believe I'm worthy of protection. I trust that my time, energy, and spirit matter. And I don't have to exhaust myself to prove my value. Self-love is not just about affirmations, but it's about actions. It's the loving discipline to recognize when something, someone, or even some belief is draining your soil instead of watering your soul. And let's be clear, healthy people respect healthy boundaries. So if someone is offended by your boundaries, they were benefiting from you having none. So here's your boundary check-in. Where do you need to strengthen? So let's, let's get practical. Think about these areas. First is your time. Are you constantly overbooked because you can't say no? Listen, you can't see me, but I'm putting up one finger. Your energy. Are you giving too much to others that you are depleted? Your mind— are you letting negativity, comparison, or fear take up space? And in your heart— are you holding on to relationships that drain rather than pour into you? Boundaries are a healing tool. And just like tending a garden, you have to prune what's crowding out your growth. So here's your weekly challenge. Here's your boundary building, building challenge for this week. I want you to identify one area where you need stronger boundaries. I mean, maybe it's your work schedule, your digital space, or even your own self-talk. Think on these things and write down one action you will take this week to reinforce that boundary. It could be a simple no, a scheduled pause, or a redirect of your energy towards something life-giving. Our boundaries aren't punishment, they're protection. So as we continue nurturing the seed of self-worth this month, I want to leave you with this: you are worthy of spaces that honor you. You are worthy of peace that protects you, and you are worthy of a life that reflects your value, not your exhaustion. Boundaries are not just allowed, they are essential. So protect your purpose Guard your peace and lead yourself with love. So until next time, dear listeners, I want you to continue to live boldly in your power. And if it gets tough, just breathe. You still got the strength to rise. So let's keep growing on purpose. Continue to live in your power.
