Well, hello, my valued listeners, and welcome to a brand new month and new episodes of Living in Your Power. I'm your host, Dr. Marleen Greenleaf, and I cannot wait to walk with you through the journey we're starting this April. Our theme for this month is Awaken Your Purpose: Planting Seeds for Intentional Living. So each week we're going to explore different parts of the growth cycle. Just like we do in nature. And this week, we're starting with clearing the weeds. Listen, you can't plant anything meaningful in soil that's crowded, cluttered, or choked up with things that no longer serve you. So today, this episode is about identifying the weeds in your life, like those beliefs, habits, and patterns that block your growth. It's about understanding why releasing is essential to walking in your true purpose and choosing what to clear out so you can make space for the new. So let's breathe deep and begin. Now, what are the weeds in your life? You know, when I garden, and I'll be doing I'm doing that soon and I'm so excited. I cannot wait. I've got my seeds, I've got my bed. Okay, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I digress. Listen, I always start by cleaning the space, okay? I first, I pull out weeds, dead leaves, and anything that's going to compete with what I'm trying to grow, because even the best seeds Can't flourish in cluttered soil. And it's the same with your life. So let me ask you, what's crowding your growth right now? What old mindset, toxic relationship, limiting belief, or fear are you still holding on to? What busyness or obligation has you saying yes to things that leave you depleted? These are your weeds, and the truth is you cannot grow what you do not clear. So I'll be real with you, like I always am. I've had to do some clearing of my own recently. I've had such as things I said yes to out of habit or guilt, people I kept around around out of comfort, even though their presence drained my energy. And old narratives like, I have to do it all, or if I rest, I'm falling behind. You know, holding on to those weeds cost me peace, focus, and space for something better. You've probably heard the phrase, you can't receive with closed hands. But let me flip it a bit. How about we say, you can't receive while your hands are full of what no longer serves you? Think on that. You can't receive while your hands are full of what's no longer serving you. That's right. So clearing isn't just about getting rid of the bad stuff. To me, it's a sacred act of faith. When you're doing— when you're clearing, to me it says that you're saying to God, I trust that something better is coming and I'm making room for it. Now, it's not always easy, and sometimes clearing means saying no to something that looks good but isn't aligned. It means sitting still long enough to hear your own thoughts, and that takes courage. But hear me clearly, you were not created to You were created to live with clarity, peace, and purpose. So for this week, here's my challenge for you. I want you to write down 3 things you need to clear from your life. These can be beliefs, habits, Commitments, relationships, or even physical clutter. And beside each one, I want you to write the empowered action you will take to begin releasing it. I mean, maybe it's saying no to a new request. Maybe it's taking a social media break. Or maybe it's letting go. Of the pressure to be perfect. I can attest to each and every one of those, let me just say, because I too am a work in progress, and I will be doing this weekly challenge with you too. So, and most importantly, I want you to give yourself grace in the process because clearing takes time. But once it begins, your soul will start to breathe again. So in closing, I want you to know that this is just the beginning of our April journey, and as we continue through the month, we'll talk about getting rooted, planting new intentions, and nurturing the growth ahead. But for today, I want to leave you with this clearing Self-care is an act of courage. It's the first step to transformation. And you deserve a life that reflects your true purpose and not your pain. So clear the weeds, make room for light, and trust your growth is coming. So until next time, my dear listeners, I want you to live boldly in your power. And if it gets tough, just breathe. You still have the strength to rise. Continue to live in your power. Thank you, Marleen.
