Well, hello, my valued listeners, and welcome to a brand new month of Living in Your Power. I'm your host, Dr. Marleen Greenleaf, and this month we are stepping into a season that reminds us to slow down, look around, and give thanks for where we are, not just for where we hope to be. So our theme for November is Gratitude in Motion: Leading, Living, and Giving from the Heart. Gratitude for me, it's, it's not a moment. I believe it's a movement. It's an attitude that flows through every season of our lives, the joyful ones, The quiet ones, and even the difficult ones. So today's episode is entitled The Heart of Gratitude: Finding Purpose in Every Season. So let's breathe and begin this journey together. Now, every season we walk through, it teaches us something about ourselves and something about Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, to everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Now, when I read this, I hear an invitation to accept the ebb and flow of life without losing faith. Because if we're honest, some seasons don't look like blessings at first glance. Some bring waiting. Some bring grief. Some bring transitions or even questions that don't have easy answers. But gratitude, my dear listeners, it teaches us to see purpose where the natural eye sees problems. It's what keeps your heart soft when circumstances get hard. It helps you say, I don't understand it yet, but I trust that God is making— is working through it. I mean, even the uncomfortable chapters, they can carry miracles if you let God show you the lesson in waiting. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 reminds us, in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning So now notice it doesn't say for everything give thanks. It says, but in everything. There's a difference. I mean, you don't have to be thankful for the pain or the problem itself, but you, my dear listeners, can be thankful for the presence of God Now, that kind of gratitude, it grounds you when life feels uncertain. It transforms your worry into worship and your fear into faith. I mean, maybe you've been in a stretch where things haven't gone your way. I mean, doors closing, plans shifting, Goals delayed, federal government shutdown. But hey, let's take a breath. Even here, you are seen and sustained because God is not finished with you. He is forming you and me. So now Leadership rooted in gratitude, it looks different. When you lead from a thankful place, you see people as purpose partners, not pressures, and you start celebrating small wins, not just milestones. Because I believe gratitude turns criticism into coaching and And comparison into collaboration. It creates an environment where others can breathe because you've made space for grace. And at home, gratitude transforms relationships. It's not just about saying thank you. It's about seeing the gift in each person you love, and a grateful heart attracts peace, and it shifts the atmosphere wherever you go. So now here are 3 simple ways that you can keep gratitude in motion. Now the first one is— I call it the morning moment. So before you check your phone, I want you to whisper a thank you for a new day. Why? Because gratitude first resets your mind. Gratitude first resets your mindset. So that is the morning moment. Next, we have the midday pause. Now, during this midday pause, I want you to take a breath before you react to stress and ask God, what's still good here? Now the next is the evening reflection. Now with this, I want you to write down 3 things you're grateful for, for that day. I mean, over time you'll see patterns of God's faithfulness you might have missed before. So let's repeat these. You have the morning moment, the midday pause, and the evening reflect. Okay, 3 ways of practicing gratitude daily. Now here's your empowerment prompt for this week. This week I want you to ask yourself, what season Am I in right now? Is it planting, pruning, or harvesting? And what lesson is this season teaching me? How can I show gratitude even in the waiting? Now, as usual, I want you to write your answers in your journal and end with a simple prayer. You say, Lord, thank you for trusting me with this season and help me to find your purpose in it. So again, for this week, I want you to ask yourself, what season am I in right now? Is it planting, pruning, or harvesting? And what lesson is this season teaching me? How How can I show gratitude even in the waiting? And once you write it down in your journal, I want you to say this simple prayer: Lord, thank you for trusting me with this season, and help me to find your purpose in it. So now, in closing, my dear friends, I want you to remember that gratitude isn't just a feeling; it's a focus. And when you choose gratitude, you shift your posture from striving to surrendering. And when you surrender, you find peace right where you stand. I mean, the world around you may change, but God's faithfulness, it never does. And that alone, my dear listeners, is reason enough to say thank you. So I want to thank you again for joining me on this episode of our Living in Your Power podcast. And until next time, dear listeners, I want you to live boldly in your power. And if it gets tough, just breathe. You still got the strength to rise. Thank you. So until next time, live in your power with gratitude.
