This is a podcast episode titled "The Power of Sacred Space: Making Room for God and Growth" (part of an October series called The Power of Presence) created on 2025-10-27. It is a faith-centered, motivational monologue hosted by Dr. Marleen Greenleaf in which she teaches about reclaiming and protecting one’s sacred space—framing it as a posture of presence with God rather than a physical place. She offers practical guidance (daily 10–15 minutes of breathing/reflection, decluttering calendar/inbox/thoughts, honoring the pause), poses an empowerment prompt (remove one thing and recommit one thing to make room for God’s presence), gives a personal example (reducing overcommitment and decluttering her inbox), and closes with encouragement to live in presence and protect inner peace.

Well, hello, my valued listeners, and welcome to the final episode in our October series, The Power of Presence: Reclaiming Stillness, Strength, and Sacred Space. I'm your host, Dr. Marleen Greenleaf, and over the past few weeks, we've explored how to slow down, Find strength in stillness and trusting the timing of your journey. But today, we're focusing on something that ties it all together. It's your sacred space. Because here's the truth: you can't sustain your peace, your power, or your purpose if you don't make room for it. We often think of sacred space as a place we go, um, like our prayer room, the quiet morning hour, or a retreat. But really, your sacred space is also a posture. It's a mindset that says, I honor what God is doing in me. I I protect the peace he's given me, and I don't let chaos sit where clarity belongs. You don't need a mountaintop or monastery to experience sacred space, my dear listeners. You just need intentionality. In, in Exodus 33:14, God tells Moses, my presence will go with you and I will give you rest. Now Moses had been leading people through the wilderness, through rebellion and through exhaustion, but when he asked— but what he asked for wasn't strategy, it wasn't strength, it was presence. So your sacred space It's where you meet God, not because everything's perfect, but because you are available. It's where rest is found, not because life stops, but because God enters and you allow him to enter in. So let's pause here and ask a hard question. What in your life is currently crowding out your sacred space? Hmm, is it the constant noise of social media, perhaps? Is it overcommitment? That's me. Is it a fear of silence? Or is it people who don't respect your boundaries? Let me, let me go over this one more time. What's taking up too much room? What in your life is currently crowding out your sacred space? Is it the constant noise of social media? Is it overcommitment? Is it a fear of silence? Is it people who don't respect your boundaries? So your sacred space doesn't have to be big, but it must be protected. My dear listeners, if you don't protect your space, you'll always feel like you're managing your peace instead of living in it. So how do you create and protect your sacred space, you may ask? Well, I have a few suggestions for you. Real simple. First and foremost, designate time daily, even 10 to 15 minutes, Just to breathe, reflect, and listen to God can change everything. Declutter what drains you. Now, this might be your calendar, your inbox, or even your thoughts. Make room and declutter what drains you. And finally, honor the pause. Don't rush back into chaos after your quiet time. Let the stillness linger and carry it with you. Give yourself that time to breathe and exhale. Don't rush back into it. Honor the pause. So here's your empowerment prompt for this week. What would it look like to reclaim your sacred space this week? I mean, what's one thing you can remove and one thing you can recommit to, to make room for God's presence? For me, it's that overcommitment bug. I'm gonna work on decluttering my inbox with all these requests that I keep saying yes to. It's time for me to say a graceful no. See, that's my empowerment prompt, and that's how I'm responding to it this week. So I'm gonna repeat it for you again. What would it look like to reclaim your sacred space this week? What's one thing you can remove and one thing you can recommit to, to make room for God's presence? I want you to write it down, make the space, and protect it like the treasure Treasure it is. So in closing, my dear listeners, I want you to remember this: you were never meant to live in burnout. You were meant to live in presence. So whether you're in a season of building or waiting like I am, make room for the sacred. Let peace be your practice. Let presence be your power. And let your sacred space become your sanctuary. I want to thank you for journeying through October with me, and I'll see you next month for a brand new series that I know will speak life into your spirit. So until then, I want you to continue to live boldly in your power today. And if it gets tough, just breathe. You still got the strength to rise. So until next time, dear listeners, I want you to live in your power.
