Well, hello, my valued listeners, and welcome to a brand new month and new year of living in your power. I'm your host, Dr. Marlene Greenleaf, and I want to personally welcome you into this new year and this new season with intention, clarity, and grace. Now, if this is your first time here, I am so glad you found your way to this space. This podcast has always been about empowerment, faith, and self-leadership. But for this season, season 4, it's different and in the best way. This is a fresh start, not because something was broken, But because something deeper was ready to emerge. So Season 4 is an invitation to pause, to breathe, and to return to what truly matters. Now, we've officially stepped into 2026, and before we rush to set goals, make declarations, or pressure ourselves to get it right, I want to invite you to do something different. It's not about resolutions, not about hustle, and not pressure to become someone new, because this reset is about remembering who you already are. In this space for this month, we'll talk about presence over Performance, faith-rooted leadership, letting go of what drains you, and choosing alignment without guilt. Now, these episodes are designed to meet you where you are, and that means whether you're leading a team, building a business, navigating transition, or simply trying to stay grounded in a noisy world. So wherever you're listening from, I want to invite you to settle in. You don't need to strive here because you are already enough. So let's begin. This month's theme is the Power Reset: Returning to What Matters. And that's because this year is not about becoming someone new. It's about returning to who you've always been, and that's grounded, guided, and held. So today's episode is the first in our January series. Again, it's the Power Reset: Returning to What Matters. Now, January often comes with noise. I mean, noise that says do more, noise that says do better, noise that says you are already behind. But here's the truth. Many of us don't need another resolution. We need restoration. And that actually is my word for 2026, restoration. We are coming out of a year where we carried responsibility, Grief, uncertainty, and pressure. And yet the world keeps asking us to sprint forward without acknowledging what we're still holding. So a power reset, my dear listeners, is not about starting over. It's about pausing long enough to ask, what truly matters right now? What has drained me? more than it has nourished me? And what am I being invited to release? Isaiah 30:15 reminds us, in repentance and rest is your salvation. In quietness and trust is your strength. It's not in striving. Not in overworking, but in rest and trust. Now, in my own life, I've learned that resets don't come when life is calm. They actually come when life demands clarity. There have been seasons where I realized I was functioning well on the outside but feeling disconnected on the inside. I was doing what was required, but I wasn't always honoring what was necessary for my spirit. And God had to gently remind me that power isn't found in doing more. It's found in alignment. When we return to prayer, to boundaries, to stillness, And to discernment, something shifts because we stop reacting, we stop forcing, and we start listening. And that's where peace meets purpose. Now, as always, I want to give you 3 ways to begin your power reset this month. So if you're ready to reset, Gently and intentionally. Here are 3 ways to begin. First, revisit your values before your goals. So before you ask, what do I want to accomplish? Ask instead, who do I want to be this year? Second, release what no longer fits. I mean, not everything you carried last year, needs to come with you into this year. Some things were seasonal, and that's okay. And third, create space for God's guidance. Even 5 quiet minutes a day can realign your spirit because stillness makes room for clarity. So a power reset doesn't remove responsibility. It restores Perspective. Let's reflect on Matthew 11:28. It says, come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Now notice he didn't say figure it out first. God said come. Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. So here's your empowerment prompt for this week. I want to invite you to journal on these questions. Yes, journal. Gotta write it down. First, you say, where do I feel most disconnected right now? What am I being called to release as I begin this year? And what would it look like to lead and live from a place of peace? I want you to remember that clarity doesn't come from rushing, it comes from returning. So write these down and ponder on them. I'm going to repeat them again for you. Where do I feel most disconnected right now? What am I being called to release as I begin this year? And what would it look like to lead and live from a place of peace? So my friends, as you begin this new year, I want you to know this. You are not behind. You are not lacking, and you are not required to exhaust yourself to prove your worth. This month we reset, not because we failed, but because we're wise enough to choose alignment. So I want to thank you for joining me today for the first episode in our January series. The Power Reset: Returning to What Matters. And I'll see you next week as we continue this conversation with an episode on releasing what no longer serves you. This is a message I believe that will speak directly to your heart. So I want to thank you again for listening to me on this episode, this first episode of season 4 of Living in Your Power. Thank you. And until next time, I want you to live boldly in your power today. And if it gets tough, just breathe. You still got the strength to rise. So until next time, continue to live in your power. Thank you, Marleen.
