I met this girl in a subway walking my way. It must have been my day. Seemed like the perfect match for me. So she said to me, Craig, can you give me what I want? I don't know about you, but I feel so—
What is up? I am Crypto Mason. In this video, we are going to dive into the markets. I'm going to give you my thoughts on all of what's happening over the past 24 hours. Uh, we've got some Ocean Protocol news, we've got some Visa news, some Grayscale adding 5 new cryptos. to their trust. Um, and we've got some Cardano news, and at the end of this, some David Schwartz Ripple type, uh, type content. Now let's hop into the markets. $55,000 Bitcoin, staying there. I thought we were gonna race up to $70K, um, in these, these, uh, probably this week. I don't know, I don't know. I don't— I really do not pay attention to, uh, Bitcoin. Like, it's very hard for me to pay attention to Bitcoin. I just look at the price every once in a while. Um, Ethereum below $1,800. Look at Cardano raging up to $1.24. I hope that if you bought at $1, man, you might— I don't know, I don't know. They put that on Coinbase Pro as we saw yesterday. Uh, what else, what else we got? XRP 47 cents, Litecoin almost at $200. Uh, so Pretty normal stuff. Look at Filecoin pumping right there. We've got some Filecoin stuff coming up here. Um, anything else we need to look at? Let's check out, uh, HBAR. Let's check out HBAR. I've been getting so much comments saying that it's dropping. That's what cryptos do, they go down to go back up. Like, do I— I don't— I don't— I've seen a billion comments on my TikTok saying, yo, HBAR is dropping, HBAR is dropping, man. Yes, that's what they do. They correct. Um, HBAR is not some kind of god coin that only is gonna rock it up this whole thing and just continue. Um, as long as we stay above 30 cents, or actually above 25 cents, um, that's amazing. We've locked in profits and we can expect an insane rest of the year for HBAR. Um, I really feel like it might pump again soon, but I don't know. But that's what the market's looking like. Um, let's check out what Zinfen— I think Zinfen is down as well. Zinfen, uh, still hovering at 3 cents. Amazing. Ocean Protocol is now live on Layer 2 with Polygon. Ocean Protocol smart contracts in the Ocean Market are deployed on Layer 2. So there's a partnership between Polygon and Ocean. I like that a lot. I like that a lot. I don't own any, uh, Polygon. But I do own Ocean. I do own Ocean. I love Ocean. Um, so that's dope. Visa says it's developing a Bitcoin and crypto business. The payments giant has so far kept away from offering cryptocurrencies and products, but its users could soon buy Bitcoin directly using their service. This is really dope. They said strong potential. Um, These are currencies that are fiat-backed, but we're allowing this translation, if you will, into a fiat currency and in a wallet where there's a Visa card. And again, that Visa card can be used with translated digital currency over to the fiat currency to purchase at one of our, uh, 70 million locations. So Visa's getting in the game, man. It's— this year is good. The rest of this year is going to be crazy. We've got Grayscale launching 5 new crypto trusts, and these are the 5 cryptos they launched. Basic Attention Token, which is BAT. If you use the Brave browser, you can earn BAT for free. Um, I don't invest in BAT and I don't use the Brave browser. Chainlink, I do. I have a bunch of Chainlink. I love Chainlink, so that's good. Decentraland, very interesting. I've got a lot of questions about MANA and Decentraland. I will always prefer Enjin over it, uh, but I haven't really looked deep into Decentraland as an investment. Filecoin as well. We saw Filecoin was raging up. And Livepeer, is that even a coin? It is. This is probably— let's guess how much percent it's up. 13? 13% up? Come on. Whoa, 119! Whoa, that rocketed! Oh man, people got blessed here. People got blessed here yesterday. Actually, 2 days ago it was $7 and now it's $14. Oh man, Livepeer, very interesting. Wow, I might have to check that out. Well, that's gone already. See, if you're a person who invests right now— oh my, actually, there the supply is, uh Max supply is 22 million, so that might be— I might— you might get that. I'm not invested in that though. Okay, Cardano's Charles Hoskinson threatens YouTube and Twitter with lawsuits over crypto scams. Seems like he's just doing everything. He's doing the most to get in these headlines. Hoskinson threatens social media platforms with a class action lawsuit as they have failed to protect their customers from fake giveaways. I agree. This is dope. And he also threatened to leave if he didn't get a Twitter verification badge. And let's see if he's— I'm not gonna check, but, uh, he threatened to leave Twitter and he got his verification badge. I saw that in the news as well. Um, which makes sense, which makes sense. I need a verification badge. Because these people, um, they scam using my name. They scam using my name. Here we go, to end it off, we've got some content from Digital Asset Investor. I love his channel, shout out to him. Um, this is David Schwartz talking about mining, Bitcoin mining. Also, I just did a video, um, summarizing the David Schwartz interview. Go check that out, um, save you an hour of watching the original interview. But let's watch this.
I just, I feel like I almost have to give a trigger warning here If there are any Bitcoin maximalists who wandered into the room, some of this material may be a bit triggering for them.
Oh my, I love that.
Just a heads up. Um, systems that ride on it. It may be that moving millions of dollars in value has only— has a near-zero cost. Like, moving gigabytes of information has a near-zero cost, right? Like, the cost of moving things has come down to zero. So it could be very useful in the values it moved and capture very little value itself. And proof of work doesn't work if that happens. So it's not, it's not a good choice to build on, and it forces a race to the bottom. As we saw in the attacks on Ethereum last week, a miner has a free option. A miner can try to game all of Ethereum's decentralized ecosystem at zero cost. He can assemble the transactions in a block however he wants. And if a miner makes more money by gaming the DeFi ecosystem, by taking orders that have gotten out of balance, a race to the bottom, cancel orders, whatever he does, He's going to make more money than miners that don't do that, and so he's going to mine more and they're going to mine less, and he can force them out of business. Mining is a race to the bottom. You got to make the most money for every hash you do, or you're squeezed out of business. You got to do your hashes at the lowest cost possible. There is no incentive really to improve the network other than the sort of diffuse incentive that if the whole ecosystem is good, the system is better. But that's like what we don't rely on, right? Like if the only thing we relied on was that, well, miners want the system to work well, so they have this sort of diffuse incentive to make the system better. That's not how mining works, right? We presume miners are selfish. And so it forces a race to the bottom. I don't want you to mine because you're pushing the difficulty up for me, even if you're making the network better than I am. You're sort of indifferent to the quality of the network because you're forced to. And it doesn't really operationally decentralize very well. Um, all of the people who mine look like all the other people who mine. They're people who have cheap power and good hardware, can operate cheaply. They tend to be similar looking. Miners choose how this makes forward progress.
The only reason they have similar looking— is he referring to their physical appearance? No, I'm joking.
To provide operational decentralization is because if the system sucks, people won't use Fire, fire!
That will trigger some Bitcoin maxis. But that is how I'm gonna end it off. Thank you so much for watching once again. Check out all the links in the description, follow my Twitter, um, and goodbye.
