In this commentary, the speaker explains that Western Union has announced a partnership to build its money‑transfer services exclusively on the Solana blockchain, bypassing Ripple and XRP. He presents this as a factual development and then argues that the partnership signals a shift toward using stablecoins on Solana as the primary "bridge currency" for cross‑border payments. The speaker contends that this undermines XRP’s core mission of being the universal bridge currency, claiming that all crypto already fulfills that role and that stablecoins (e.g., USDT, USDC) are more familiar to banks. He further suggests that the move advances a central‑bank digital currency (CBDC) narrative, allowing authorities to program, freeze, and monitor transactions, which he views negatively. The overall message is that the Solana‑Western Union alliance could be detrimental to XRP’s relevance in the global payments ecosystem.

Solana just did something crazy and this could be bad news for XRP. You guys know I only give you the objective truth. I am not a brainwashed XRP holder. The first part of this, Solana partnered with Western Union who does all the wire transfers. They are the world's largest money transfer business. So basic fact, right? Western Union has partnered and chosen to partner and build exclusively on Solana. Not with Ripple, not with XRP. They are choosing Solana. This is a basic fact. That's just a fact. That's not my opinion. It's just a fact. They also posted this. Now, is this going to be like the Drake and Kendrick beef of crypto? They just tweeted, there is no bridge currency. There are stablecoins on Solana. And then they put the Western Union logo. They even, I guess this announcement is big enough that they changed their logo to yellow for now. Why is this bad XRP news? Well, there's two reasons. Number one, basic fact, Western Union chose Solana and didn't choose Ripple, didn't choose XRP. The second one is they are propagating this idea and pushing this idea that there is no bridge currency. You guys know XRP, that's its main mission, is to be the bridge currency in between all of the world's currencies because they want to speed up, uh, cross-border payments. And you should be able to transfer money anywhere to anyone anytime for free and for as cheap as an email. But what I've started to realize, all crypto does that. All crypto already does that. Crypto itself is the bridge currency. So that's what they're saying. They're saying stablecoins are the bridge currency. And those stablecoins, Western Union is going to build theirs on Solana. Example here, like stablecoins is fiat dollars. Like it is that system, but it's linked into the crypto system. So technically what, what they're saying is that why would a bank want to use some random currency called XRP? XRP when they can just use a stablecoin and they know what currency they're using. It's familiar. They're just getting USDT or USDC, and then it's always redeemable one-to-one with the dollar instead of having to go through XRP or something. They're saying there's no bridge currency, it's just stablecoins. And of course they're pushing this because they want to push the CBDC narrative— central bank digital currency— where they can freeze your money at any point. They can program the money. They can do whatever they want. They can also see every single penny you're spending.
