In this monologue, the speaker highlights the industry‑wide shift of banks to the ISO 20022 financial messaging standard, using Deutsche Bank’s official adoption as a concrete example. He explains that ISO 20022 is purely a banking messaging protocol designed to improve payment clarity, reduce disputes, and enable seamless communication between institutions, and stresses that it has no intrinsic connection to cryptocurrency protocols. The speaker then addresses the common misconception that crypto tokens like XRP are “ISO 20022 compliant,” clarifying that while certain crypto projects (Ripple, Stellar, Quant) have built solutions that can operate within the ISO 20022 framework, the tokens themselves cannot be compliant. He delineates the relationship between Ripple the company and XRP the decentralized token, noting that Ripple seeks compliance on behalf of its ecosystem. The narrative also touches on the psychological market narrative that links ISO 20022 adoption to potential price moves in associated tokens, and mentions Quant’s involvement in creating a related ISO technical committee (TC 3407). The overall message is corrective: banks are moving to a unified messaging standard, and crypto’s role is peripheral, not foundational.
Chapters
All of the banks are shifting to the ISO 20022 standard. Deutsche Bank has officially made this leap, as you can see right here. I don't need to give you the source because this is literally their official website. You can just go and check it. What does this mean though? ISO 20022 is a financial messaging standard. This means that all of these banks are going to communicate on the messaging standard and they had to update it to ISO 20022. As you can see, it says ISO is enhancing payment clarity, reducing disputes, and improving the overall experience. This has absolutely nothing to do with crypto. Absolutely nothing. ISO 20022 applies to banks. It's a messaging standard. There's only a few crypto protocols, including Ripple, Stellar, and some other ones that actually are compliant with this. This is just a standard that you must be compliant to. That's all that is. So if you hear people talking about XRP, Quant, all these other coins, it is because we're moving towards a more unified financial and banking system, and there's an upgrade happening. And these are the cryptocurrencies that are included in that upgrade. They are aware of that upgrade. They're contributing to it. They're trying to speed up cross-border payments. But ultimately, a crypto token itself does not and cannot be compliant with this standard. I'm the only one screaming this from the mountaintops these days. No other influencers seem to understand this. But let me make a but point right here. Um, damn, messing up my flow right here. But here's the thing, it's been years and years of people telling you that XRP is involved in this. Really, Ripple is involved in being compliant with this standard. Uh, XRP is the decentralized cryptocurrency that the centralized corporation Ripple uses and invested in. That's the relationship. However, this psychological narrative has been built. It's building up, building up, right? And this is not some kind of myth or like conspiracy. No, all banks are moving to this standard. It is happening, all of them. So this is, this is not like a conspiracy. You don't need to like be all weird about it. The psychological narrative is so strong that this could make those crypto tokens that have been attached to this go up. But please make sure you just understand what this actually is. There's a lot of different ISO standards. Um, I believe Quant, like QNT, actually created an ISO standard. I think it's called ISO TC 3407 or something like that. That's one to look into for sure, um, that blockchain standard. But this is very interesting. Big shout out to Deutsche Bank for doing this, and we're going to see more and more banks transitioning to ISO 20022. This is a key step in replacing and upgrading the financial system. All of the banks need to be able to talk to each other.
