In this video, the creator debunks the widespread claim that XRP—or any crypto token—must be ISO 20022 compliant. He cites a response from former Ripple executive Matt Hamilton, who confirms that ISO 20022 is a financial messaging standard for banks and payment systems, not a protocol that tokens must adhere to. Using an analogy of two people speaking a common language, the speaker explains that ISO 20022 ensures interoperability between financial institutions, and only payment networks (like RippleNet) need to follow it, not the tokens themselves (XRP, XLM, etc.). He criticizes influencers who hype ISO 20022 adoption as a direct price catalyst, labeling such arguments as “stupid” and likening them to nonsensical claims about unrelated businesses. The video notes the ongoing rollout of ISO 20022, including FedNow’s March 10, 2025 launch and Swift’s adoption, but asserts that this technical shift does not inherently increase token value. Despite exposing the misinformation, the speaker maintains a bullish stance on XRP and other “ISO 20022 coins,” arguing that their intrinsic use cases and his own research justify confidence. The overall message encourages viewers to un‑brainwash themselves from hype and understand the real technical landscape.

XRP is not ISO 20022 compliant and no crypto token can actually be ISO 20022 compliant. In this video, I'm going to expose every single XRP influencer on the face of the earth, including me, because I used to think this. I actually had a former Ripple executive, Matt Hamilton, reply to my post about ISO 20022 confirming that this is a reasonable take and agreeing with me on this fact that ISO 20022 is a financial messaging standard. It is for financial institutions. It doesn't have anything to do with crypto tokens. It's for banks and payment systems to send messages back to each other. So let's explain this just to prove that Matt Hamilton literally formerly worked at Ripple, also IBM, also at Arbitrum and Bittensor. Easiest way to explain something like ISO 20022 is thinking about it this way. A native Italian and a native Frenchman both speak English to one another so that they can understand each other. The banks' payments need to understand each other. They need to be interoperable. They need to speak the same language. So all this is is a different bank making sure they speak the same language as another bank. It has nothing to do with crypto tokens at all. I can send you a crypto token right now anywhere in the world. I don't have to be compliant with an ISO standard. I just send it to your freaking wallet. This does apply to RippleNet and other payment systems if they're trying to be a payment system then it applies. XRP itself is a token, right? Stellar is a token. These XLM tokens do not have to comply to this standard. However, if they're building a payment system, yes, you do have to comply. So if Elon, like in my previous video, if Elon makes a payment platform out of X, he needs to comply with ISO 20022 so that his payments can be understood by all the banks. Matt Hamilton makes a great point right here. So think about this same example, right? This is like some of the influencers right now, and I used to be this person. I used to be this exact person saying that, you know, this could cause these assets to go up, right, when they implement ISO 20022. And psychologically, it still could make these assets go up when this gets fully implemented. It's already being implemented. It already has been implemented in a lot of banks. It's a slow rollout. There's a lot of phases to get the entire financial system on the same messaging standard here. But this guy says, or Matt Hamilton says, the influencers are trying to tell you that because of that, the value of Waterstones bookstore will go up. Because they sell books in English, right? Relate that to this example and you'll understand why that is so stupid. This really doesn't change the fact that ISO 20022 will go live with FedNow on March 10, 2025, in one day, overnight. And it's already rolled out. Swift is already on it, right? There's a lot of phases to this rollout. Guess what the best part is? I can remain bullish on all of those ISO 20022 coins, I can remain bullish even though I know the truth about this, right? You want to be unbrainwashed as much as you can in crypto. You got to unbrainwash yourself. So I know the truth about ISO and the ISO standard, and I know the truth about how all these other influencers, they don't even understand this. They just say ISO coins, you know, buy them, go up, that's it. I can remain bullish on these assets because I still see the value and the use case because I've studied.
