OpenAI's Sora can generate hyper-realistic videos of historical figures like Martin Luther King Jr. and Jesus, making it impossible to tell real recordings from AI fakes. The speakers worry this technology will destroy our ability to know what's true.
Chapters
Do you guys understand what OpenAI just did with this new Sora? This is Martin Luther King giving a speech, right? His AI, and it's AI, but he's giving a speech and you can make him say whatever. I scroll on here, the next scroll I see Jesus vlogging at the Last Supper. It's insane. But the implications of this, people in the future are not going to know what was real or fake. Like, they're not going to know that Martin Luther didn't say this. Like, where's the original? Like, they have dropped another bomb on society. Their first bomb was ChatGPT making intelligence free, and now they're making this free, which every video on this platform is AI. It's absolutely insane.
Maybe that's AI. This is AI.
And you know what's the crazy theory though?
They'll never know.
The theory is that Sam Altman— someone has blackmail on Sam Altman, and he wants to flood the feed of Sora with videos of himself because he's the most used character on there, and they're super realistic, so that when the blackmail comes out you'll be able to say, no, that's Sora, that's someone generated, that's not real.
