Amazon, Apple, Google, Netflix, and Facebook are racing to control your living room. Facebook will likely win the advertising layer because of its unmatched user data, serving personalized ads across devices from your TV to your car.
One of the biggest races they have right now is the race for the living room. Who's gonna run the living room? Because who's gonna own the entertainment device in the living room? Who's gonna actually serve the content to consumers? Amazon, with their TV and with Alexa. Now they have an ecosystem in the home. We all know about Apple's and Google really has YouTube to really bet on moving forward. But I think these companies, it's really hard to see anything get in their way and not long on Netflix at all. For the main reason that content is just about who has the biggest wallet. I think Facebook wins no matter what because their network effect is too strong. They know more about anybody than any company in the history of humanity. So I think every ad is going to be served by Facebook. When you go into your car, which will be a giant docking station itself, and you drop in your phone, then your phone will know who you are, and it might change the billboard you see or what ads are actually played on your radio station. So I think Facebook becomes the data layer.
