Will AI Diagnose You Faster Than Doctors? Matt Britton On News 12 NY

A short interview (YouTube) with author Matt Britton discussing how AI will transform healthcare. Britton describes creating personalized ‘healthbots’ (custom GPTs) trained on his own medical records to generate tailored diagnoses and visit dossiers, and argues AI can outperform humans in tasks like radiology. The conversation touches on AI-driven personalization, diagnostic accuracy, and surgical robotics.
Artificial intelligence has made groundbreaking advances in the healthcare industry. But can AI powered robots actually help diagnose eventually treat our medical problems? Well, here to break it down for us is author of Generation AI, why Generation Alpha and the Age of AI Will Change Everything. Author Matt Britton is here. So great to have you.
Great to see you. Thanks for having me.
I mean, listen, when I read that title, that's. That's a. That's a big, aggressive sentence.
Yeah, I mean, AI is going to change everything. I think largely the public is underestimating its impact on all corners of business, culture and society, health care included.
Okay, so how can we use AI? Maybe let's. Let's start with, like a primary care provider situation.
Yeah. So I've actually created my own healthbot where I took 20 years of X rays, blood tests, information, MRIs, and fed it into something called a custom GPT, which is a version of ChatGPT that's just trained on my data. And I told it to act like a leading doctor from Johns Hopkins University. And I ask it questions like, if I'm gonna die in five years, what's the most likely cause? Right. And the answers just blow you away because doctors, they're scared of maybe sometimes telling you the truth, but AI doesn't care. It's gonna give you the hard truth. And now every time I have an ailment, sometimes when people feel like something's wrong, they'll go to WebMD.
Yes.
But WebMD doesn't know who you are, so it's treating you like it treats everybody else. Or where. If I go to my own custom GPT, it's trained on everything there is to know about me. I even use it to create dossiers when I go to see a certain specialist or a doctor, and it'll give me a report that I can give to the doctor with my health history, so I don't even need to ask me any questions, really.
So you're taking your own information? Yes, uploading it in there. So it is specifically tailored, personalized to you.
It's my own health assistance. I've also built my own financial assistant where I put up all my financial records that helps me during tax time, so.
But I can use it.
You sure can.
Okay. For both of those things.
You absolutely can.
Okay. So that's. That's amazing. All right, let's go to robots now. Which is something I remember, you know, ages ago, actually. You know, seeing surgeries being done with robotic arms and things of that nature. What impact does AI have now surgically.
Well, I mean, it's going to rock the health care industry to its core. Let's start with something like radiologists, right? Radiologists get paid to review X ray results. And a recent study came out that AI's version of reviewing X ray results is significantly more accurate than having humans do it. Think about it. Humans can have a bad day, maybe didn't have their coffee yet. Maybe they're in a rush to go pick up their kid from school and they miss that one detail that could be life or death.
Wow. This is just an amazing conversation. You're going to have to come back so we can delve even deeper into this.
I'd love to come back.
Yay. So nice to meet you.
Likewise.
