Quantum computers could break the encryption protecting classified military data. China is already collecting encrypted messages to decrypt later with quantum power, threatening all U.S. Navy and Defense Department secrets. Post-quantum cryptography is now a critical defense priority.

That's one thing that really keeps me awake at night, right? Because when you talk about security, you're talking about confidentiality, integrity, and availability. We've always relied on confidentiality because of all of the encryption and things, especially in the Navy Department of Defense. Now we go to war, we don't want the enemy to see what we are doing, and we really rely on encryption hardware and software. So with quantum computing, if you can break the encryption in like 2 seconds and you get access to everything, that's a real problem. Even this is out there. This is not classified. It is open source now, but China has a whole lot of our information that's encrypted. They cannot get to it, but data storage is extremely cheap. So they're just hanging on to it. Once they are able to break into the encryption, they're going to get access to everything. So it is really crazy.
