Are there specific symptoms for specific molds?

Matt Kelly explains that mold symptoms aren't reliably tied to specific molds. Instead, mold-related immunosuppression can reactivate latent infections like Lyme, Epstein-Barr, and CMV, causing unpredictable symptoms ranging from brain fog and neurological issues to digestive problems and pain.

All right, we got a great question from Laura here, which is, are the symptoms for mold toxicity random, or are there common symptoms for specific types of mold? And the answer is they are pretty much random. And you're not going to be able to tie symptoms normally to specific molds. I mean, if you have something like ketomium exposure and your ketoglobacin A is going up, it could be collecting and causing brain inflammation and neurological problems. And those are your symptoms. But that doesn't mean other molds and mycotoxins can't be doing the same. The biggest problem with mold toxicity is the immunosuppression it causes. And when you have that immunosuppression, if person A has been bit by a tick and has Lyme and CO infections in them and their immune system's holding it in check, that immunosuppression could allow full Lyme and CO infections to flare. And now those are their symptoms. If person B has Epstein Barr and cytomegalovirus just under the radar and the immune system is holding it in check, and then the immunosuppression from mold pushes it down. Now they've got Epstein Barr symptoms and cytomegalovirus. If someone else has parasite problems or fungal problems, and then that immunosuppression allows those to come out. So you can see what. Why it's hard to know what's causing what, because the immunosuppression in general by all, but also mycophenolic acid from penicillium allows so many existing variables that were being held in check to become big problems. So that's why everyone doesn't look the same. But the common overall symptoms of mold tend to be, you know, about the same for people like that list of a lot of things, you know, brain fog and neurological problems and gut issues and digestive issues and pains and skin issues, and, you know, just a general list of mold. And you'll see that across people. But every person will be different, even based on their mold, because of what that immunosuppression allows their own body to let out. Hope that helps.
