Can I treat mold without testing?

Matt Kelly answers a viewer question about whether one can detox from mold without lab testing. He says yes — if you know you are exposed and symptomatic you can start detox strategies (clean air, improve bowel movements, support bile flow, liver/kidneys/lymphatics, use binders) — but emphasizes labs are valuable to establish baselines and objectively track progress (example: ochratoxin A numeric change). He notes that skipping labs can lead people to spend years and money on ineffective self-directed approaches and recommends retesting if no improvement in a set time.

Denise is asking a good question here, and it is, can I detox mold and go on a protocol without the test in order to save money? Short answer, yes, you absolutely can. If you know you're mold sick and you're living in a moldy house and your symptoms are coming from mold, you can jump right in. Like my last video where I talked about how to detox, it was a crash course, crazy small crash course on how to detox from mold, which was working. Make sure your air is clean, make sure you're pooping, make sure you're supporting bile flow and liver and kidneys and lymphatic system and binding. You can start all these things. It's just nicer. And for my clients, I have them get the lab so that we can measure progress. It's nicer if you can say, here's where I started with this many problems, and, you know, three, four months later, my problems are here. And then we know that the protocol is working, and then we measure again. Your problem should be here. Your problem should be here. So the lab, it doesn't change what's in your body. It just gives us an understanding of where you're starting so that we can measure our progress. Because what I see people do over and over is they're like, I don't want to spend money on labs, so they take supplements. They read in Facebook groups what they should do. They keep trying things their way. And we. And what's happening, they're still getting worse and worse and worse, and they're spending time and they're spending money, and they're not really getting anywhere. Then year two comes, and they're like, okay, well, I learned something new. I'm going to do this now. I'm going to do this now. Am I getting better? Am I not getting better? My symptoms aren't changing, but are the mycotoxins changing? I don't know. I don't have labs. So this is a problem. And that's why with clients that I take on, I make sure that we do labs because it's possible that you're getting better, but. But you don't feel better yet. Say, for example, your ochratoxin a starts at 30. We've been working on you for six months. Maybe it's at 23. Okay, you're not feeling better, possibly, but the number's going down, so you're getting closer to feeling better. But if we don't know that changes are happening, you could assume that what you're doing is not working. So there's a lot of gray area here. There's a lot of guessing. And when you're guessing on your health, it keeps you sick longer. You spend more money in the long run. So why not just spend the money up front to get the labs done so you can actually see and then you can retest later and see what you're doing. So that's why I like labs. But you can absolutely go ahead and do it if you're getting it. It's really nice if you were getting into a fresh space so you have the opportunity for your body to get out of fight or flight has the ability to start detoxing and then you're adding in smart things you're learning from this group. A little plug there and then you may be able to get somewhere. But if you know, pick a time, say if I don't feel better in six months, then I'm going to contact matter or someone else I know that can that specializes in mold to help me. Because you just don't want to get stuck with so many people I see spinning their tires year after year goes before you know it, they've spent a couple years, which is all lost income, which is all time that you could have been generating revenue if you felt good enough to have a job again, you know. So consider it all you can do it without. I like it with pros and cons, but if money is the issue, focus on clean air. Try it. See if you can get some relief doing what you've learned and go from there.
