How do you clean mold in the shower? This is a common question. Because mold will often grow on caulking on grout in the bathroom. Why? Because bathrooms are wet rooms. That's where mold problems often start. And when you have the moisture from showers and things, when you already have a problem in that room and those spores land kind of like they can in a toilet bowl or in the toilet tank, when you have this water source and a high level of spores in the room, it really starts to grow quick. Okay, so that's not normal to see mold growing in the shower. In the toilet, it tells you you have a bigger problem and you need to figure it out. Okay, but a lot of times people have mold growing along their caulking in their grout. How do you do it? Hydrogen peroxide. If you can get a higher strength hydrogen peroxide and get a toothbrush from the dollar store that you save just for cleaning mold, that would be disastrous to put that in your mouth, save that. And you scrub it. You scrub it. And then when it's done, you do it one more time, and then you do it one more time until it's perfectly clean and wear ppe. Open the window. Especially if you're sensitive, you don't want to be breathing that in. Especially when your hydrogen peroxide starts getting stronger. But that's a good way to clean it. But to me, that's not the biggest problem, isn't cleaning it. The question is, why is it coming? And when you see something like that, it usually means you have a problem in the bathroom. If you've got a shower, especially a tiled shower, and I hope you don't have a tiled floor in your shower, those are the worst. Because when the grout isn't sealed, the grout is porous. Okay? Concrete's porous and can go through. So if it's not sealed, water can go through, create a mold problem underneath. But people get grout that's cracking or worse yet, chipping chunks out, and water goes right down. And then if there's not proper sealing under there, it creates a massive mold problem. But showers, especially tiled showers, are notorious for mold. So you could very well have mold growing under your shower or behind your shower in that wall right beside the shower. And as those spores slowly come out, they land everywhere, obviously on the grout, on the caulking. And when you have showers, it keeps it damp, so it loves to grow there. So you can use hydrogen peroxide. You can spritz with EC3 after this is hypoair.com, total clean, which is a copper and iodine base, which I love. Got lots of cleaning options, but the bigger question, like I said, is why? Why does it keep coming back? There's likely something growing in that room, but that's how you would clean it topically until you find out. Get an inspector in. See if they can figure out if something's growing around your shower or under the vanity. Hope that helps.
