Matt Kelly walks through the Gut Zoomer stool test kit: what it measures (inflammatory markers, zonulin, SIBO bacteria, specific taxa like Akkermansia), what's in the box, pre-collection rules (stop probiotics and certain meds beforehand), the collection steps, and how to ship it. Results take about 2 to 2.5 weeks.

The vibrant America Gut Zoomer. This is one of my favorite labs because it gives you so much data of what's going on the inside of the gut. We're not just talking inflammatory marker. We're getting not just calprotectin, we're getting multiple inflammatory markers. We're seeing if your pancreas is making proper or enough enzymes. We're checking for blood, we're checking the pH, we're checking your anti gliadin, looking for gluten sensitivity. We're looking at zonulin for leaky gut. We're looking at bacteria markers that would let us know if sibo is likely happening. We're looking at things that bacteria that can affect the liver. We're looking at so many different markers and driving right down into specific bacteria, like canaries in the coal mine, like Akkermansia, which the lower it gets, the closer you get to really inflamed conditions like Crohn's. Okay, so I'm not trying. I shouldn't be trying to sell you on this. This is just a how to video. But I'm just excited about it because it's one of those labs that we want to run with everyone with mold toxicity, because mold toxicity definitely ruins, destroys, what's the word? It definitely contributes to seriousness GI tract problems, as does Lyme. So people with mold and Lyme and just general gut problems. This is the best lab on the market for seeing as many markers as possible. So here's. Now I can tell you what I started out to tell you. Here's what you get in the mail. So when you order this lab, myself or Amy are going to send you an email to get your date of birth, height, weight, couple other data points we need for the lab to get your requisition in. But then the lab's going to send you via FedEx this box. Okay? Don't throw out your box. You have to put your specimen back in this to return it. Now, they also include return shipping. So you'll get a FedEx bag and label for the front. It's already paid for. You're just going to have to call FedEx a day or two before you want to ship it and tell them you're going to have a pickup on, say, Monday if you're doing your collection Sunday night. If you do your collection, just do a collection Sunday night, make sure you put it in the fridge and then. Or if you do it Monday morning, make sure they come that day. It's not. I shouldn't say it's not A big deal. We want to get it back as quick as we can. Some specimens can sit a little longer than others, but you always want to get it back as quick as you can. And you want to line this up to get it back as quick as you can. So inside the box, this is your Gut Zoomer collection kit. Okay. And that's what I want to run over this with you. So you have a comfort level with it because it's, it's, it's not a fun thing to collect, but it's definitely doable. It's relatively easy. But I want to walk through it with you so that you've got a good comfort level. First thing you'll see is there's paper instructions on the back. Pop those out. Okay. One is one sheet is all about things that can cause a problem and alter your results of your lab. So give this a good read over because if you have to wait to take the lab, sometimes it's better to wait because you want to make sure you're getting accurate results. Okay. The other one gives you step by step instructions. And this is extremely handy. I won't go through every step with you, but know the sheet is here and it shows you what a good sample should look like, what a bad sample looks like. Just follow the instructions and everything will go well. But this is the one that I like to talk about with people. And this list is already on this Gut Zoomer listing. So make sure you read it well. But these are things that can affect the bacteria and digestive markers in your gut. So these things really, you really want to make sure you're doing the best you can to avoid these. But I do know there's people that can't stop some of these things. Otherwise it just blows up their ability to poop. So things like diet, colonoscopy procedures. So if you just had a colonoscopy, you don't want to do this right away. You want to wait till like two weeks after. If you're taking anti inflammatories like aspirin, if you're on steroids like prednisone or something, that's going to mess up your inflammation, like your calprotectin and other inflammatory markers. If you're on autoimmune meds or biologics, if you're on antacids like PPIs or TOMS or H2 blockers, which you could be on for histamine issues. If you have histamine or mast cell issues and you're on those, that can impact this A bit. Probiotics are a big one because obviously if you're putting in good bacteria, we're not going to get a reading of what your baseline is actually like. We're going to be picking up those bacteria that you're already putting in bentonite, clay. You want to wait, you know, two, three days after that. So you want to stop it for two or three days. If you're taking hydrochloric acid with your meals, you want to shut that off, stop that for two, three days before collection. Same with digestive enzymes. Obviously that will affect, you know, how your enzyme production looks. Laxatives, activated charcoal should be okay. The big ones, antimicrobials. Okay. So if you're taking something to kill bad gut infections or bad bacteria in your gut, that's going to affect what your baseline looks like. So you want to stop antimicrobials, that includes antifungals and anti parasite herbs. But those ones you have to stop for like two to four weeks so that it can rebalance out to its baseline. Okay. And that takes a while. And if you're doing suppositories, obviously that can affect it as well. So that's kind of the important list there of things that can affect your sample. So let's jump into the sample bag. This is what you're waiting to see. You are going to get inside. This bag has two tubes and then it has gloves for obvious reasons. It has a couple stickers that have your name and barcode on which you're going to put on the empty section of these tubes. And these tubes also have a patient name, date and time of collection. So your sticker has your name already on it and a spot for collection date, but it doesn't have the actual time. Okay. So just make sure you put the stickers on. Don't cover up anything important on these tubes with the sticker. Put it where there's nothing. Okay. That's the sticker. There's the gloves you're going to wear during collection. That's the absorbent sheet that goes inside the bag. And then this is the. Well, this isn't fun. It already has its moisture's hit it. It's got some discoloring. This is what goes across the toilet. This is your poop hammock. I'm sorry I made that name up. But this. Tell me it doesn't look like a poop hammock to you. So this has a sticker on each side here and this side here that tapes onto your toilet seat. Okay. And then this hangs here for you to poop in. I'm sorry we have to say this, okay? I have to tell you how this works. And you don't want to get any urine in this. This is just for collecting poop only. Now, I don't trust these. They're probably fine. But I don't trust just that skinny little sticker because if one sticker gives way, the whole thing falls in the toilet. And now we have to order a new kit. So what you can do is take, like, you know, like packing tape if you're going to ship a box somewhere and put a. Put this on, use the sticker, put. But then put a strip of packers packing tape over top of it to help hold it to make sure there's no problem. Okay? And then once that's done, let the fun begin. Okay, you got your two tubes. One's empty. The clear one is empty. Okay? And the spoon is attached to the lid. So when you take this lid off, it has the spoon in it. So you're going to take samples. So. So what some people will do is take the poop hammock and set it on, like, a clean, like, disposable plate, okay? Because you don't want to be digging around with it hanging over the toilet because there's no strength or stability. So if you take it off, set it on a disposable plate on the counter, have the fan on. I'm sorry, this is. I told you this isn't a glamorous test to do. Okay? And then each of these tubes have a red line, and that's the fill line. You're going to fill it up to there. This one has the preservative, this one's empty. They both have the spoon attached to the lid. So you're going to take your sample, put it on the plate. You're going to sample from different areas of stool, fill up each one to the red line, get the lids back on, and the hard part's done. Okay? You'll have already put your stickers on, filled out the collection date and time. Make sure you seal these good. They're on straight on, firm. Then when that's done, you're going to put them back in this bag with the absorbent sheet and then back into the box, which then goes back into the provided FedEx bag. Okay? So now you're like the other labs. You want to call a day or two ahead of time and set up. So if you know you're going to ship it on a Monday, call FedEx tell them you got a pickup for Monday. Make sure your label on your FedEx bag is already filled out. You don't have any questions, and everything in this box is all sealed up. Your stickers are on the date, time, patient name. Everything's filled out, and you're good to go. So it's not glamorous, but the data we get, it's worth pushing through and doing this, doing this lab and collection, it's not fun, but it shows so much information of what's going on in the gut and gives us a bar to measure progress. Bar progress by as you're on a protocol and working to fix what we find in this. So then when you. If you want to retest in six months, we can see, are those bad bacteria coming down? Are those good bacteria going up? Is your enzyme production going up? Is your inflammation going down? So this is the best lab on the market for that. So it's simple to do. It's a little messy. It's not glamorous, but it is what it is. So I hope this video helped make you feel a little more comfortable about what that process looks like. If you have any questions, shoot me an email, mattpharmacy.com or use the contact form on this website. And it only takes a couple days to go back from FedEx, but it takes two and two and a half weeks for them to get the results. The Gut Zoomer is one of the ones that just takes longer to be processed. Okay. So you're looking at about two and a half weeks, which is still fairly quickly, Fairly quick when you compare it to what other options in the market are. So, again, if you have any questions, reach out. Other than that, I'm happy to help you get this started and get this to the lab. And they send a piece of PDF result back, to which I let you know right away when your labs are ready and you can get those results. All right, any questions? Reach out. Have a good one.
