Matt Kelly answers a viewer question about replenishing minerals and vitamins when using binders long-term. He advises against prolonged use of mineral-stripping binders (activated charcoal, clays), and recommends humic/fulvic acid (“sludge”) because it is mineral-rich, systemic, and increases mineral absorption from food. He also mentions pulsed use of stronger binders (GI Detox, Quicksilver Ultra Binder) timed before meals to bind bile/mycotoxins, and recommends repleting minerals with products (CellCore CT Minerals, Trace Minerals liquid) and checking mineral status with hair tissue mineral analysis (HTMA).

Gina asked a question about how to replenish minerals and vitamins when on binders for a long period of time. That's why you don't want to get on binders for a long period of time that do bind your minerals. Okay. Your charcoals, your clays. These are good binders, but I pulse them with clients. You know, like the my go to binder is always sludge, okay. That's a pure humic and fulvic. It goes systemic in your body. It's not just the gut, it goes everywhere. But here's the thing about humic and fulvic. It's mineral rich. It's literally delivering minerals to your body. And when you take it during a meal, well, I always have people put in their water bottle for the day, so they're constantly drinking. It has no taste. Sludge has no taste. But even when you're taking it near a meal, the fulvic acid helps carry the minerals from the food into your cells. So you're getting a higher absorption of the minerals that you're getting from food. So on the one hand you have a binder that doesn't strip minerals, adds minerals and increases your absorption of the minerals you're eating. And on the other hand you've got binders like the charcoals and clays that are, that can be stripping your body. So that's why I always go with sludge, humic and fulvic because that's way more beneficial. But I do, I use, I've got some GI detox back here, right there. Those white bottles are GI detox. Also like Quicksilver, they have a, what's it called? Ultra binder, which is very similar to GI detox, but it comes in powder. They do have caps now as well, but I will use those with clients like before a meal, kind of like an enzyme time to get that into the intestines so that when bile's flowing, it's already there to bind that bile, to take the mycotoxin laden bile out and bind that. But you can obviously add extra minerals like cellcore, CT minerals. I can link that up also. What's the company with the blue bottle? Trace minerals. Trace minerals also has a liquid which doesn't taste amazing, but that's one way to get that back in. And you can also take a. There's other companies with mineral supplementation, but if you have been on those binders, which I don't recommend for a long period of time, I would definitely be getting minerals put back in. And you may want to consider an HTMA to check mineral status. That's a hair tissue mineral analysis, where your hair gets measured, since it's a tissue and it's measuring what's going on with minerals and electrolytes in your body. So I hope that helps.
