How to test for mold in the body?

Matt Kelly recommends starting with a urine mycotoxin test using a fasting first-morning sample to detect toxins like ochratoxin A and aflatoxins. Organic acid tests can show fungal colonization. Test your body first, not your house, since mold exposure often comes from elsewhere.

Hey, guys, getting set up for question two here. I got my timer set for three minutes, and the question is going to be, how do I test for mold? Okay, now, this is. This is a massive topic, okay? And there's a lot to go in here, but again, I'm skimming the surface. This is the tip of the iceberg. There's a lot of details and explanation here. I'm going to answer this question in less than three minutes. How do I test for mold? All right, and go. So when you're testing for mold, you're not usually looking for mold itself in the body, okay? That's when we use an organic acid test. We're looking for mold colonization, and that's only measuring some species of Aspergillus and Fusarium and not really many others. It's also looking for yeast. But when we're talking about mold, we're usually thinking about, you know, the bigger multicellular molds, fungus, rather than yeast. But the first test to do, if you want to know if mold could be contributing to your health issues, is the mycotoxin lab, as we talked about in video, answer number one, Q&A. Number one, is that it's the mycotoxins that are affecting your body, that are toxic to the nervous system, to the immune system. They're extremely immunosuppressive. And like ochratoxin A attacks the kidneys and aflatoxins attack the liver. And what we're looking for are the mycotoxins. And that's a simple urine test. And 99% of the time, that urine test is fine, unless someone's extremely unwell. Then we have other options in case they're not eliminating and their liver is not happy and detoxing at all. So the number one test, the first thing to do is to do a urine mycotoxin lab. And I will put that link below because that looks in the urine for mycotoxins, and that will show us which mycotoxins are coming out at that time. Now, remember, you could have ones that aren't coming out at that time. Your concentration levels are going to flex. No test is 100%, but this is the best way that we can take a look. And there are directions and things you have to follow before doing that test to make sure you're doing it right. But it's a simple urine test. Just keeping an eye on my time. It's a simple urine test. It's a fasting urine test. Okay? So you stop eating, drinking the night before at suppertime, say you stop at 7pm you wait at least 12 hours. So you're looking past 7am to collect your first pee of the day. And it should be strong, should be like apple juice. But that urine mycotoxin lab will go back to the clinic and it's going to tell us which mycotoxins were found in that sample and their concentration and their level. Okay. And then that gives us a way to measure your level of toxicity at this time. But it also gives us a bar to measure progress by. Because when we're on a proper protocol and things are working, we now want to watch those start coming down. Now, there is a reason that they'll spike first, but again, that's another. Don't have time for that in this video. So we're doing mycotoxin lab first looking for mycotoxins. We're not starting with the house because your house could come back fine, but you could still be mold toxic because you could be getting your mold exposure from house, previous house or from your school or from your work or from your car, from your church or from your gym or somewhere. Right? So we don't start with other places. We start with the body. Because just because your house is clean doesn't mean your body is. We check the body first. Alright? That's step number one. Hope that helps.
