Hi, my name is Dr. Paul Anderson. A lot of people call me Dr. A, which is always fine, and this is my YouTube channel, Dr. A Online. I want to thank you for visiting. The purpose of the channel is to share a number of years of experience that I have in medicine and answering questions that are really common, and my career in medicine goes back to working in laboratory settings in the late 1970s Eventually going back, finishing up with medical school, doing a lot of interesting cross-training. My practice mainly focused on people with cancer and advanced chronic illnesses, but I did an awful lot of primary care in the years prior to that. So when I think about why I would want to have a channel, I've had a lot of clinical experience, very large number of patients over time. I participated in various research trials, including an NIH-funded human research trial with cancer patients. I've done a lot of writing and teaching of other physicians and talked to thousands and thousands of patients over time. So my real purpose is to answer common questions, and those can be anything from, why did my doctor do this? I get that— those questions a lot. Well, is this medication really necessary? What about these natural substances? What are they gonna do to me or not do to me? All sorts of things that I've had to answer over time, and my goal here is to answer them and sort of make a permanent record of it for you. So we'll go through common illnesses, common treatments, we'll talk about integrative medicine treatments, naturopathic medicine therapies, relative values of different types of therapies for different things, And a whole lot more.
